Day 01: Drive to Ghandruk (1940m/6,364ft), (4h) and trek to Tadapani (2,630m/8,628m), (5.5km), (4h)
Your guided Muldai Viewpoint Trek from Pokhara, with Amigo Treks and Expedition, begins after breakfast at your hotel in Pokhara. Our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Pokhara and together you will drive to Ghandruk, in a private jeep.
Ghandruk, the trailhead of this Muldai Viewpoint Trek, is one of the culturally vibrant (steeped in Gurung culture and tradition) villages in the Annapurna region. Located in the foothills of the Annapurna, a drive from Pokhara to Ghandruk takes roughly four hours.
Leaving behind the bustling city of Pokhara, you will drive to Nayapul, following the Beni-Baglung Highway. The road to Ghandruk forks north the highway at Nayapul. Now following the Ghandruk road, you will continue your journey to Ghandruk. You will also stop shortly at Birethanti for ACAP formalities. The road onward is mostly unpaved, narrow and winds through the villages and forested hills. The drive thus can be bumpy at sections, but the entire journey is very scenic as you can witness rural landscapes and glimpses of local rural life.
About 4 hours after leaving Pokhara, you will reach Ghandruk. In Ghanruk you will have your lunch, while the porter prepares to carry your luggage. The trek to Tadapani starts at Ghandruk. It’s a pleasant 4-hour walk through the forest of Rhododendron mostly on stone steps that also offers you occasional views of the Annapurna Mountains. The trail might seem difficult at first, however, once you reach Bhaisikharka the trail becomes relatively easier to tread. Thus, making the last 1.5 hours easier.
In Tadapani, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02: Trek to Dobato (3440m/11,286ft), (5km), (5h)
Today’s trek from Tadapani to Dobato is both pleasant and challenging. Although the distance is only about 5 kilometers, the trek takes about 5 hours to complete. Tadapani is one of those places in the Annapurna region that offers the grandest views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre. Thus, enjoy breakfast with this view, before starting the trek and get ready to head towards a much quieter section of this trek.
Today’s trek is mostly through the forest of Rhododendron; therefore, you will be accompanied by the chirping of birds, singing of insects and fresh forest air rather than the human crowd. Except for a few teahouses in places such as Meshar and Isharu, this section of the trail does not have any permanent settlement. Therefore, if you want to stop for lunch or a short tea break, you can take a break at these stops. The forest trail is mostly undulating and sometimes flat. About a 2 hour hike from Tadapani will take you to Meshar, from where you can enjoy a distant view of a waterfall that originates from Annapurna South. From Meshar, about a 1.5 hour walk will take you to Isharu and from Isharu an additional 1.5 hour walk will take you to Dobato. Although most of the walk is through the forest, the trees start to thin out as you approach Dobato. The trail grows steeper and more exposed and you’ll be surrounded by magnificent views of peaks.
Ultimately, after about a 5-hour walk from Tadapani, you will reach Dobato, your overnight stop for tonight. Dobato greets you with more magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. You will check into one of the lodges for dinner and overnight stay. The lodges here are very basic and limited in number. Spend the evening enjoying the views of the surrounding peaks.

The hike from Dobato to Muldai viewpoint takes about 30-45 minutes. Therefore, 30-45 minutes before sunrise you will start your hike to enjoy a mesmerizing sunrise view over the mountains from the Muldai view point. Starting while it’s still dark, follow the narrow trail, you will hike to the view point. Enjoy one of the most beautiful mountain sunrise views from the top. From this view point, you can witness the panorama of more than 20 peaks in the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri region including some of the most prominent peaks such as Annapurna South, Hiun Chuli, Dhalulagiri as well as Machhapurchhre.
