Mount Kailash is a mountain in the Himalayas in Tibet. It is considered a sacred mountain in several religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon. The Mansarovar lake is a high-altitude freshwater lake located near Mount Kailash.
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is a pilgrimage to these two holy sites in Tibet. It is a physically demanding journey that involves a long trek over rugged terrain at high altitudes. The yatra typically begins in the city of Kathmandu in Nepal and may involve a flight to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, followed by a long drive to the base of Mount Kailash. From there, pilgrims embark on a three-day trek around the mountain, known as a kora, which is believed to bring good fortune and spiritual enlightenment. The yatra also includes a visit to the Mansarovar lake, where pilgrims perform ritual baths and pray.
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is open to all Indian citizens and foreign nationals of Indian origin, who are at least 18 years old and in good physical health. Pilgrims must obtain a visa and a permit to enter Tibet, as well as travel insurance. The yatra typically occurs during the summer months of June, July, and August, when the weather is most favorable.
It is important to note that the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is a challenging and physically demanding journey, and it is essential for pilgrims to be in the good physical condition and to acclimatize to the high altitude properly. It is also important to be aware of the risks associated with travel to Tibet, including the possibility of natural disasters and political instability. Pilgrims should consult with their doctors and the Indian embassy in Nepal for more information about preparing for the yatra and for guidance on staying safe during the journey.

Day 05: Kathmandu - Rasuwagadi - Kyirong Drive (3900m) / 210km / 7 - 8 hrs Today's journey to Kailash begins at 5 a.m., with breakfast packed from the hotel because we need to complete immigration formalities at the border on time, and we also have a bit of a rough and difficult route to the border on the hillside driving in Nepal. Once we arrive at the border, our representative will assist us in passing through immigration on both the Nepal and China sides. Then the 60-kilometer drive to Kyirong will begin.
Day 06: Kyirong rest day for acclimatization. We have a full day today in Kyirong Valley, a small local town. We will stay here one more day today to acclimate your body to the elevation for a comfortable journey to War Kailash.
Day 07: Kyirong to Paryang Drive (4400m) / 340km / 7 hrs Today we will drive to Paryang through Saga town. We can stay in Saga, which is 110 kilometers from Kyirong, or drive 340 kilometers to Paryang. It is the best option to drive to Paryang so that we can arrive at Manasarover around midday the next day.
Day 09: Mansarover Puja / Parikrama / drive to Darchen (4700m) / 90km We'll go to Chiu monastery in the morning, which overlooks Mansarover. It is also a good spot to get a panoramic view of Mansarover Lake. You will be driven 90 kilometers to Mansarover Parikrama during the day. The road is not paved, but the plateau is comfortable. The Mansarover parikrama provides a different perspective on Kailash's face. And in the evening, we'll drive to Darchen food of Kailash for the night.
Day 09: Diraphuk to Zhulthulphuk (4790m - 22km) This day is very sensitive and we have to pass Dolma-La Pass, which is 5400 pooja and hawan, The weather is unpredictable in Doma-la Pass and at any time snowstorm can fall. So we try to start our journey as early as possible. In route, we can have Darshan of Gaurikund but it is very difficult to go and touch. Overnight stay en route to Zhulthulphuk in the tent.
Day 10: Drive to Tarboche 12km, then trek to Diraphuk (4800m) / 12km / 6 hrs After breakfast, we will depart from Darchen to begin the Kailash trek. We will drive approximately 12 kilometers to Tarboche, then walk approximately 12 kilometers to Diraphuk. Kailash's back face will be visible as a face-to-face from Diraphuk.
Day 11: Trek Over Dolma La pass (5600m) to Dzutulphuk (4700m) - 8-9 hrs Today is the most difficult day for all Yatries because we must pass 5600m, the highest point on the Kailash Parikrama. Today we start early at 4 a.m. because we need to ascend a long way to the Dolma La pass. It is a horizontal ascending and the following pass. After a brief visit to the Gauri Kunda just below the Dolma La Pass, the path steeply descends toward Khando Sanglam before becoming more normal until Dzultulphuk.
Day 12: Trek Ends at Mani Wall and Further Drive to Saga (4400m) / 8 hours Our vehicle will meet us at Mani wall after 2.5 hours of trekking from Dzutulphuk, and we will drive to Darchen. After lunch, we'll drive to Paryang or Dzongba, and if time allows, Saga for the night.
