12-Day Everest Base Camp Deluxe Trek With Helicopter Ride is one of the best trekking in Nepal. Leaving the arrival and departure day, we spent 12 days in the Khumbu region of Nepal. Taking trekkers up to the base camp of Mt. Everest at the altitude of 5,545m (Kala Patthar), this trek allows trekkers to explore and enjoy the natural and cultural magnificence of the Khumbu region en route to the base camp of Everest. Apart from the views of some of the major towering peaks of the world including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Cho Oyu, trekkers also get a chance to explore the attractions of the Sagarmatha National Park. These attractions in the area are beautifully backed up by the perfect culture, lifestyle, and sincere hospitality of the Sherpa people living in the region.

This hike to the Base Camp of Everest begins with 35 35-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. From Lukla, we walk up to the base camp and retrace the same path to Lukla to fly back to Kathmandu. Our 12-day Everest Base Camp Trekking package includes full board during the trek and bed and breakfast before and after the trek. Accommodation is arranged in local lodges and guest houses managed by local people that provide basic amenities, bed, breakfast, and dinner. The lunch is ordered from a tea house menu. Both typical Nepali and Western food are served during the trek. Trekkers can also enjoy a free map with this package. This 12-day package also ensures necessary acclimatization before ascending the height.

Nevertheless, the packages offered by Amigo Treks and Expedition are fully customizable. All customized packages guarantee a 100% departure date and flat rates with a special group discount. Though the difficulty level is comparatively high, and physically fit and mentally determined person can attempt this trek. Moreover, the best season to plan this trek is spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) for supportive weather, temperature, visibility, and smooth trails.

The trip starts with a 30-35-minute flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. From Lukla, up till the base camp is on foot. If you are looking to spend more splendid days in Nepal go for Everest Three High Passes Trek for 19 days or even Everest Base Camp Trek with Gokyo Lake and Chola Pass for 18 days.

This trip is available every day from 15th March - to 20th May and 1st Oct-20th Dec  with a minimum of 2 pax

Our Attempt to Avoid Altitude Sickness

(“Climb High, Sleep Low” is the rule one needs to follow, to avoid altitude sickness. Therefore, apart from 2 days of acclimatization, at Namche and Dingboche, to aid the acclimatization process, we hike a little higher than our overnight stop and get down for overnight rest.)

Although we try to depart on the scheduled itinerary, we cannot promise to guarantee fixed departure only in case of flight cancellation, or delays. Thus, we request you to plan out an extra few days in case the weather does not stay in our favor.  Since your safety is our uttermost priority, we also request you to follow your team leaders and your guides’ since they are trained and experienced in this particular area. We can arrange to occupy your day with adventures and exploration activities to utilize the day.
The weather condition in the Himalayas is also subject to change, which can obstruct your travels. Since obstacles are unpredictable, Amigo Treks & Expedition facilitates our customers to arrange helicopter service if needed (at extra cost). We can arrange helicopter service during the time of flight delays/cancellations and personal preferences.  Since helicopters can fly in arduous circumstances compared to airplanes.

Amigo Treks proved to be an exceptional tour operator

Amigo Treks proved to be an exceptional tour operator, displaying a remarkable degree of responsiveness and flexibility in meeting our requests. Despite the limited time we had available, they skillfully managed to accommodate everything we desired. From the moment we arrived in Kathmandu, they provided virtual door-to-door service.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Nava, the Sherpa, Kerin, the porter, and Niti, the organizer, for their unwavering friendliness and support throughout the trip. We highly recommend opting for the luxury package that includes a helicopter ride back, which is a fantastic way to save time.

we had such a great experience

Normally we do not write reviews, though in this case, we had such a great experience that we want to praise Amigo Treks & Expedition as well as our guide Hari Adhikari.
Amigo Treks & Expedition is a professional organization with quick and clear responses to questions, as well as being available 24/7 before, during, and after the trek. They even took the time to book additional flights to Chitwan National park as well arranging shuttle pick-up and drop-offs.

Our guide Hari Adhikari was amazing. He has so much knowledge about the route, as well the environment in which we’re hiking. Hari was really caring for us. He provided us with advice on what to wear at what moment, how to protect yourself against the cold as well as how to deal with the altitude. This made the trip so much more enjoyable. Additional, Hari was able to arrange to best stays along the treks, as well as fixing broken zippers of jackets, and even carry day packs if needed.

If you decide to do beautiful trekking with Amigo Treks & Expeditions, then we would for sure advise having Hari as your guide!

Everest Base Camp, Elephant Safari, Kathmandu City Tour, Yoga/Meditation Ashram

I spent 26 days in Nepal and almost every minute of it was planned/coordinated by Niti and Amigo. Of course, the Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek was the big one and she set us up with our amazing guide Raj. This guy was amazing and he really did a super job taking care to make sure we were as safe and comfortable the entire way. I had friends who said you are wasting time with a guide but they must not have used a company like Amigo and a guide like Raj. I can't see how anyone would ever go without a guide or use another company. You could tell along the trek to EBC that Amigo was a very well respected name by the locals at each place we visited and this helped us have the very best experience.

We also did an elephant safari, Kathmandu city tour, and a yoga/mediation ashram. Everything was handled with excellence. Of course, they can't control the weather but next to that, they guys have extreme pull and influence to make sure everywhere you go, it will be a 5 star experience.

I highly highly recommend this company.

PS - stay at the ashram longer than you expect - it's worth it
