The Everest Base Camp Trek with Gokyo Lake and Chola Pass, another circuit trek in the Khumbu region, is a great introduction to an ultimate adventure in Nepal. Taking you to the four different high altitudes of the region: Gokyo RI (5,360m), Cho La Pass (5,420m), Kala Patthar (5,550m), and the base camp of Everest (5,364m), this trek to the base camp of Mt Everest with Chola Pass and Gokyo Lake offers a heavenly view of Mount Everest along with Lhotse, Nuptse, Cho Oyu and other peaks rising above 6000-8000 meter from the sea level.

Our standard, 18 days Everest Base Camp with Gokyo Lakes and Chola Pass trek itinerary offer something more. Trekkers can enjoy Gokyo Lakes, large glaciers like Ngozumba and Khumbu, and Sagarmatha National Park with various rare species of plants and animals,  rivers, valleys, and birch pine and rhododendron forest. Moreover, trekkers can get acquainted with the lifestyle, culture, tradition, and festival of legendary Sherpas living in the villages of Lukla, Namche, Phakding, Tengboche, Pangboche, Pheriche, and other small Sherpa settlements of the Everest region.

March-May and October-December are the best months to plan Everest Base Camp with Gokyo Lakes and Chola Pass treks. Moreover, if you are hoping for glimpses of Sherpa cultural practices, then the best month is October and April for Mani Rimdhu and Dumje festival respectively. However, if you are here for a short vacation, the Gokyo Valley Trek for 15 days, and the Everest Base Camp Trek are simply the best choices.

Amigo Treks and Expedition can custom design all the trip packages to your requirements, offering special group discounts with a 100% guarantee on departure dates, and customer satisfaction. The package price includes a full board during the trek and a bed & breakfast in Kathmandu. Also, enjoy a free map with every package. Everest with Chola Pass and Gokyo Lakes is considerably challenging, our standard packages ensure proper acclimatization, with an average of 5-7 hour walk in a day. Thus, any physically fit person, with sound health can plan this trek. The trails are guided by local guides and native Sherpas.

As per this package, the hotel booked for you will be 3 Star Standard and will be in Thamel. The same person will help you with hotel check-in formalities and you can spend the rest of the day either resting, or strolling around the tourist hub of Thamel. This area also offers a variety of restaurants to choose from, offering both, typical Nepali and Western cuisine, where you can grab your next meal.

If your flight is scheduled to arrive before noon, we will conduct a meeting at our office, in which we will formally introduce you to your guide, check your equipment, brief you regarding the trek and settle the final payment. In case your flight is scheduled to arrive in the afternoon, late in the evening, or even night, the meeting will be held the next day. Overnight in a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Trek preparation and Drive to Ramechhap (4-5h), (During Peak Season)

As per the recent decision made by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, all flights to and from Lukla will operate from Ramechhap Airport, during high season (March, April, May, October, November and early-December). In case the decision is made to operate flights from Kathmandu Airport, a full-day Kathmandu Valley sightseeing tour will be organized to utilize the day. You will visit 4 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, namely, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swyambhunath and the Kathmandu Durbar Square.

Today's breakfast will be provided at your hotel in Kathmandu. You will be given time to prepare your luggage. Once you are ready, we will start our journey to Ramechhap. Leaving Thamel, and soon following the B. P. highway we will continue towards our destination, past Bhaktapur and Dhulikhel. The drive along the Sun Koshi river to Khurkot, located at the confluence of the Sun Koshi and Tama Khoshi river, is very scenic and interesting. From here, we will cross the bridge and leaving the Sun Koshi river behind, we will continue to Ramechhap along the Tama Koshi river. We will stop at one of the highway-restaurants for lunch and continue to Ramechhap. After reaching Ramechhap, we will check into the hotel and spend the remaining day resting. Overnight in a hotel/lodge in Ramechhap.

Meals included: Breakfast and Dinner

Day 03: Fly to Lukla (12-15min) and trek to Phakding (2,610m/8,562ft), (8km), (4h)

Most flights, to and from Lukla, are scheduled early in the morning to avoid bad weather and wind around noon and afternoon. Passengers reporting time at the Ramechhap Airport is one hour before the flight departure time. Therefore, as per your reporting time, your guide will transfer you to the airport from your lodge. You will then fly to land on one of the most dangerous airports in the world, the Tenzing-Hillary Airport, in Lukla. The flight time is 12-15 minutes from Ramechhap (30-35 minutes from Kathmandu). The flight is both scenic and thrilling.

You will meet the remaining crew members (porters) in Lukla. Enjoy your first breakfast in the Everest region, while the porters prepare your luggage to carry. Shortly after breakfast, the trek to Phakding begins. Apart from occassional uphill climb on stone steps, the trail is mostly flat, downhill and fairly easy. You will see many Mani walls, prayer wheels, small stupas and small Sherpa villages that contribute to make the trail very interesting. You will reach Phakding around lunch time. After lunch, you can rest and freshen up and around the afternoon your guide will take you to the nearby monastery for acclimatization hike. After the hike you will come down to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft), (10km) (7-8h)

Second day of the trek and the hike to Namche begins shortly after breakfast in Phakding. Leaving Phakding, an easy up and down trail that runs along the Dudh Koshi River, through the cooling rhododendron forest will take you to Monjo, which is popularly known as the gateway to the Sagarmatha National Park. The 3 suspension bridges, before reaching Monjo, add more adventure to the trek. After completing the national park formalities in Monjo, you will continue to Jorsalle for lunch. From Jorsalle, the walk up till the infamous Hillary Bridge is fairly easy. Hillary Bridge is the highest and the longest suspension bridge in the entire Everest region. Crossing the bridge, you will continue futher on a very steep trail to Namche. The first view of Mt. Everest appears soon after crossing the bridge. Overnight in a lodge (twin-room) in Namche.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 05: Acclimatization day in Namche

It's the third day of the trek and you are already over 3000 meters from the sea leavel. Acclimatization, before gaining more altitude is a must here. Keeping yourself active boosts the process of acclimatization. Therefore, after breakfast, instead of simply resting at the lodge, you will go for acclimatization hikes with your guide. The popular day hiking trails around Namche will take you to either to the old Sherpa Village -Thame (3,820m), Khumjung (3,780m), Khunde (3,840m), or the Everest View Hotel in Syangboche (3,720m), allowing your body to gradually expose to altitude that are higher than your sleeping stop. This allows your body to slowly get accustommed to the change in the oxygen level in the air. You will also explore the village to gain insight on the lifestyle and culture of Sherpa people. On clear days, the views of Mt. Everest and other surrounding peaks are amazing.

After the hike, you will come down to Namche and the remaining day can either be spent enjoying one of the cafes, bakeries, or restaurants in Namche, taking a stroll around the town of Namche, or simply resting at the lodge. Overnight in a lodge (twin-room) in Namche.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day 06: Trek to Deboche (3,820m/12,532ft), (12km), (7-8h)

Fourth day of the trek and your hike to Deboche begins shortly after breakfast. You will walk past the memorial stupa of Tenzing Norgya and there you will see the very first vie of Ama Dablam, Lhotse Shar, Taboche, Kangtega as well as Thamserku. The trail is fairly flat and well maintained. The trail to Gokyo branches off at Sanasa. However, since you are doing the Everest Base Camp first, you will instead hike down to Phunke Tenga. A beautiful water-driven prayer wheel is a great attraction here. Crossing the bridge across the Dudh Koshi River at Phunke Tenga, you will now continue on a steeply ascending trail through the forest of rhododendron to Tengboche that houses the region's largest monastery -the Tengboche Monastery. You will explore the monastery area and observe the daily prayer service by Buddhist monks, before continuing down to Deboche. The trail to Deboche is mostly downhill, through the forest of birch and fir. Overnight in a lodge (twin-room) in Deboche.

You will continue further to hike down to the bridge that comes right after the trail branches off to Pheriche. You will cross the bridge and continue further on a gradually ascending trail to Dingboche. You will reach Dingboche around lunch time. After lunch, your guide will take you to explore the settlement of Dingboche. Overnight in a lodge (twin-room) in Dingboche.

In Dingboche, acclimatization hike starts after breakfast. Your guide will either take you to Nangkar Tshang Gompa and the viewpoint above it, or to Chhukung for acclimatization hike. The hike to gompa and the viewpoint above it is an hour long hike to the ridge north of Dingboche. This hike allows you to capture the spectacular views of Cholatse and Taboche, lake at the foot of Ama Dablam and Chhukung and Makalu. However, a hike to Chhukung is a full day hike that allows you to enjoy the mesmerizing views of Ama Dablam, Baruntse and Makalu. After your hiking trip you will come down to Dingboche and spend the remaining time either resting, or exploring the settlement of Dingboche. Overnight in a lodge (twin-room) in Dingboche.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 09: Trek to Lobuche (4,910m/16,108ft), (9.5km), (5h)
