Travel Insurance:

Planning your next trek to the Everest Base Camp with Gokyo Lake and Chola Pass? Please get the travel insurance that covers all the added expenses that might result due to various health issues, injuries or accidents (together with air ambulance, helicopter rescue and other treatment cost). Also, make sure that your insurance policy covers all extra activities that you are planning to accomplish throughout your stay in Nepal. In addition to this, the policy should also cover up for death, misplaced luggage, theft and liability, cancellations, medical treatment (counting hospital charges, cost of medicine, doctor’s fees) as well as repatriation cost. As this trek takes you above the altitude of 5,000m, it is kindly requested to ensure that your insurance policy covers treks that go over 5,000m. In short, the clients themselves have to take the responsibility of all the unforeseen expenses that might result during the trip.

Health, fitness and experience requirements:

The altitudes in the Everest Base Camp with Gokyo Lake and Chola Pass trek demand excellent stamina, tough determination and the best health condition. Therefore, every trekker is suggested to consult their doctor before planning this trek. Trekkers are also requested to take advice, medications and permission from their doctor prior to planning their trek. Also, it is highly recommended to take expert guidance from local General Practitioner regarding the required guide walks. Travel clinics can offer the best assistance in absence of GP.

Some days of the trek require 5-7 hour of walking. Thus, the trek demands excellent stamina; therefore, regular exercise and jogging is recommended to build up the required stamina to successfully climb the peak. The trek is not suitable for children.

Moreover, no prior experience is required; however, if you have some experience in climbing, camping and hiking, then these experiences will be counted as a plus point.

Note: Please submit your medical fitness certificate that includes your present health condition, medical situation, the preceding illness and the medication you are taking prior to booking this package. You are also requested to be honest so that, we can prepare ourselves to take quick action in case of emergencies.

Accommodation and Food:

We always make sure that our customers get the right value for their money. Therefore, we always attempt to make some of the best arrangements for our customers. To ensure a comfortable stay, we book a tourist standard hotel in Kathmandu, before and after your trek. Basically, the rooms are twin share, where you will have to share your room with another member of your group. However, this totally depends on the size of your group and the availability of rooms in the hotel. On request, triple share can also be arranged. Moreover, if you are looking for a single supplement room, extra charges will be applied.

During the trek, normally your accommodation is arranged in a local guest houses or lodges with shared amenities. Most of the guest houses or lodges offer the facility of a hot shower. However, in the absence of hot shower, a few buckets of hot water can also be arranged on request.

A full board meal (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and tea and coffee) will be provided from the teahouse menu during the entire trek. Usually, porridge, toast or chapattis, oatmeal and local bread are served for breakfast. Lunch and dinner served during the trek are simply great.

Therefore, Amigo Treks and Expedition takes all the responsibility and makes attempts to deliver your message to your family, friend, relatives or the concerned person. Our guides are provided with a cell phone and are contacted on a regular basis. When should I plan this trek?

Though Nepal can be visited any time of the year, the best season to plan your trek to the Everest Base Camp with Gokyo Lakes and Chola pass is spring and autumn.

Spring – Mid-March, April and May,  are the perfect months to plan the Everest Base Camp trek with Gokyo Lakes and Chola Pass. These months support us with warm weather, clear skies, good temperature and the best visibility.

Autumn – Mid September, October and November, are the perfect months to plan the Everest Base Camp Trek with Gokyo Lakes and Chola Pass. These months support us with better visibility, clear blue skies and excellent trail.

Fatastic Trip, Fantastic Company

Rating:

All i can say is what an amazing trip! Its has been a dream for many years to go to Everest. I chose the Base camp and Gokyo lakes trek to add a little bit more challenge to the trip and i was not dissapointed. Amigo are so easy to deal with , after a few emails with Tikka i was all booked. Upon arrival i was met in Kathmandu by my Guide Niraj and taken to my hotel to prep. In Lukla we were met by my porter Chetan who stayed with us the whole trek. Both were excellent at their jobs and i would highly recommend. I will be back for more trekking with Amigo very soon!!!

The Best Trekking Company

Rating:

This trek was run so well, with Mr Tika Regmi making the experience so seamless from the moment I booked online, through to the very end where we sat down to review the trip. Being paired with Rawal, our guide through the 18 day tour through Kathmandu and the mountains, was the most humbling experience of my life. From the moment I suffered through water poisoning and altitude sickness, to my very last steps back to Lukla, Rawal was nothing short of incredible. Both the porters and all the staff met through the mountains were courteous, engaging and made the whole trekking experience truly unforgettable. I will most definitely choose to book through Amigo Trekking again should I go back to Nepal for a trek.
