From winding hill roads and traditional villages to remote Himalayan valleys, our Nepal motorcycle tours combine memorable riding with local culture, mountain scenery and experienced ground support. At Amigo Treks & Expedition , we organize guided motorcycle adventures for different riding interests and experience levels. Choose a scenic journey through Bandipur, Pokhara, Lumbini and Chitwan, or head into the mountains on more demanding routes to Manang and Upper Mustang. Our motorcycle packages are planned around the actual journey, not simply the distance on a map. We consider road conditions, accommodation, riding experience, seasonal access and altitude before setting the itinerary. Depending on the tour and group size, support includes a local road guide, mechanical assistance, a backup vehicle, accommodation, fuel and required route arrangements. Whether you are visiting Nepal for the first time or returning for a more challenging Himalayan ride, our Kathmandu-based team can help you choose a suitable route. FAQs
1. How much does a Nepal motorcycle tour cost in 2026/27?
The cost of a guided Nepal motorcycle tour with Amigo Treks & Expedition starts from approximately US$2,100 per person, depending on the route, trip duration, group size and services included.
Our published motorcycle tour prices for 2026 are:
These packages offer more than motorcycle rental. Depending on the selected itinerary, they include a Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle, fuel for the planned route, accommodation, meals, an experienced road guide, mechanical assistance and a support vehicle carrying spare parts.
The exact inclusions differ between itineraries. International flights, Nepal visa fees, travel insurance, personal expenses and motorcycle security deposits are generally excluded. Our current published security deposits are US$100 for the classic Nepal Motorbike Tour and US$200 for the Manang and Upper Mustang tours.
Prices for 2027 departures should be reconfirmed before booking.
You can compare the complete itineraries and inclusions on our Nepal Motorbike Tour, Upper Mustang Motorbike Tour and Manang Motorcycle Tour pages. Our classic Nepal Motorbike Tour and Manang Motorcycle Tour use the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450cc, an adventure-touring motorcycle suited to Nepal's mixture of paved roads, winding mountain highways and rougher tracks.
The Himalayan 450 has an upright riding position, long-travel suspension and good ground clearance, making it a practical choice for long journeys through Nepal. Its design helps on uneven surfaces, although challenging roads still require proper riding skills.
Our Upper Mustang Motorcycle Tour also includes a Royal Enfield Himalayan. We confirm the exact model and specification when arranging your departure.
For the classic Nepal Motorbike Tour, we include a test ride around the Kathmandu Valley, visiting Nagarkot and Bhaktapur. This allows you to become familiar with the motorcycle, its controls, Nepal's left-hand traffic and the riding conditions before beginning the main journey.
Fuel for the scheduled route is included in our published motorcycle packages. Mechanical support is also provided according to the itinerary and group size.
If you have concerns about motorcycle height, luggage arrangements or riding comfort, please discuss them with our team before booking.
Yes. You must already know how to ride a motorcycle confidently. Our motorcycle tours are guided adventures, not riding lessons for complete beginners.
However, the amount of experience you need depends on the route.
Our 12-day Nepal Motorbike Tour through Kathmandu, Bandipur, Pokhara, Tansen, Lumbini and Chitwan is a better starting point for experienced road riders who have limited off-road experience. Much of the journey follows established highways and local roads, although you can still encounter potholes, gravel, roadworks, traffic and rough surfaces.
Manang and Upper Mustang are more demanding. The routes include steep mountain roads, loose stones, unpaved sections, narrow tracks and potentially muddy or damaged surfaces. Prior experience controlling a motorcycle on gravel and uneven ground is strongly recommended.
You should also be comfortable with slow-speed handling, hill starts, downhill braking and riding for several hours.
If this is your first Himalayan motorcycle adventure, tell us about your previous riding experience. We can help you choose a route that matches your skills rather than placing you on a technically demanding journey.
We recommend bringing both your original, valid motorcycle driving licence and an International Driving Permit (IDP) that authorizes you to ride the motorcycle category used on your tour.
Nepal recognizes qualifying international driving permits, but the permit must cover motorcycles. An ordinary car-only licence is not sufficient for riding a Royal Enfield Himalayan 450cc.
You should obtain your IDP through an authorized organization in your home country before leaving for Nepal. Bring the original documents rather than relying only on digital copies or photographs.
Before booking, we also recommend checking whether your travel insurance recognizes your licence and covers riding a motorcycle of this engine capacity in Nepal.
You can send our team your nationality, licence category and driving-document details before arrival so we can help identify any documentation issues.
Remember that Nepal follows left-hand traffic rules. Roads can include frequent overtaking, pedestrians, animals, buses and trucks, particularly around towns and major highways. The best tour depends on whether you prefer technical off-road riding, high Himalayan scenery or a broader experience of Nepal.
Upper Mustang Motorbike Tour β 12 days
Choose Upper Mustang for dramatic desert landscapes, remote settlements, Tibetan-influenced culture and adventurous mountain roads. The journey travels through the Kali Gandaki Valley, Jomsom, Muktinath and Kagbeni towards Lo Manthang, at approximately 3,840 metres.
It is particularly attractive to riders with previous off-road experience who want a challenging Himalayan adventure.
Manang Motorcycle Tour β 8 days
Manang is a shorter but demanding journey through the Annapurna region. After Besisahar, the route becomes rougher as you travel towards Chame and Manang, reaching approximately 3,540 metres.
This route is suitable for riders looking for a compact Himalayan adventure with challenging road conditions, mountain views and time to explore Manang.
Nepal Motorbike Tour β 12 days
Our classic Nepal journey is ideal for riders who want to combine motorcycling with culture, sightseeing and comfortable stops. The route visits Bandipur, Pokhara, Tansen, Lumbini and Chitwan, covering approximately 1,300 kilometres.
It includes dedicated sightseeing days, so you do not spend every day on the motorcycle.
For experienced road riders visiting Nepal for the first time, we would generally recommend the classic Nepal Motorbike Tour. For riders specifically seeking remote, rough mountain roads, Manang or Upper Mustang may be more rewarding.March to May and September to November are generally the best periods for motorcycle touring in Nepal, but the ideal dates depend on the route and altitude.
October and November are particularly popular. After the summer monsoon, skies are often clearer, mountain visibility can be excellent and temperatures are generally comfortable for riding. However, damaged roads or landslide-affected sections may still require attention after the rains.
March and April are also attractive, with warmer conditions in the valleys and pleasant daytime temperatures. Higher areas can remain cold, especially early in spring.
May offers warmer weather, although afternoon clouds and pre-monsoon rainfall can affect some routes.
The monsoon usually brings heavier rain between June and September. Mud, swollen streams, landslides and poor road conditions can make riding more difficult. Upper Mustang receives comparatively little rainfall because it lies in the Himalayan rain shadow, but the roads approaching Mustang can still be disrupted.
Winter motorcycle tours are possible in lower regions, but snow, ice and freezing temperatures can make high-altitude routes unsuitable or inaccessible.
For Manang and Upper Mustang, we recommend choosing dates based on current mountain-road conditions rather than the calendar alone. Our team checks local route information before each departure.
Yes. Amigo Treks & Expedition can arrange private motorcycle tours for groups of friends, motorcycle clubs and riders who prefer a customized Himalayan journey.
Our published itineraries provide useful starting points, but you do not necessarily have to follow every standard stop.
Depending on the route and operating conditions, we can discuss your preferred travel dates, daily riding distances, accommodation standards, sightseeing interests and additional rest days.
For example, a group that enjoys demanding off-road riding may prefer Upper Mustang or Manang, while riders looking for a combination of scenic highways and cultural experiences may enjoy our classic Nepal Motorbike Tour.
We can also review larger group requirements, including support-vehicle arrangements, motorcycle availability, mechanical assistance and the experience levels of individual riders.
For private trips, it is particularly useful to know whether everyone has similar riding skills. A route that is comfortable for an experienced off-road rider may be too demanding for someone who mainly rides on paved highways.
Our Kathmandu-based team can also discuss motorcycle extensions into Tibet, subject to border access, documentation, permits and operating arrangements.
To receive a customized proposal, please share your preferred route, travel month, group size, expected riding experience and accommodation preferences.
