The Mardi Himal trek is a recently opened eco-tourism trail that leads hikers to the base camp of Mardi Himal. This route offers stunning views of the Annapurna massif, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and Manaslu, as well as the blue glaciers of the Annapurna sanctuary.

Located in the Annapurna region of Nepal, to the east of the Annapurna Base Camp, this trail is off the beaten path and takes you through Rhododendron and Juniper forests and charming settlements of Tamang and Gurung people, culminating at the base of Mardi Himal. For an ultimate adventure, trekkers camp each night, sleeping under the stars and gazing at the Himalayas. The trek reaches a maximum altitude of 4,500m.

Amigo Treks and Expedition has designed an 11-day itinerary for the Mardi Himal trek, which also includes a guided day tour of major sites in the Kathmandu Valley. The package includes a full board during the trek and a bed and breakfast before and after the trek, as tea houses and lodges are not available. Cooks are hired to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner of your choice.

Accommodation and meals in Pokhara and Kathmandu are arranged at hotels, and a free map is also provided. The package can be customized according to your preferences, and all customized packages guarantee flat rates, no hidden charges, special group discounts, and a 100% departure date.

March-May and September-November is the right time to enjoy the trek, as these months are very supportive in terms of weather, temperature, trail, and visibility. Moreover, if you are looking to explore more areas of the Annapurna region try our other packages like the Annapurna Base Camp trek 16 days, or even the Annapurna Circuit Trek 20 days.

This hike to the base camp of Mardi Himal starts with a 40-minute ride from Pokhara to Phedi. The trail passes through Pothana, Forest Camp, and High Camp and finally up to the base camp of the Mardi Himal, which then retraces the same path to the Low Camp, where the trail heads towards Sidhing Village. The trail then follows the line of the river valley and heads towards the end point of the trek Lumre, where we catch a vehicle to Pokhara. Enjoy!

Mardi Himal Trek Review(s)

4.9 out of 5 Based on 1 user reviews.

it was a phenomenal experience

Ratings:

I recently went on the Mardi Himal trek with Amigo Treks and Expedition, and I must say it was a phenomenal experience. As someone who loves adventure and enjoys exploring new places, this trek was a perfect choice.

One of the things that stood out to me about the Mardi Himal trek was the lack of crowds. It felt like I was truly experiencing the beauty of the Himalayas in a more authentic and remote way, away from the hustle and bustle of the more popular trekking routes.

Booking my trek with Amigo Treks and Expedition was a decision I was thankful for. Their team offered exceptional guidance and support during the trek, and my guides and porters were well-informed about the local culture, history, and geography. This added an extra layer of depth to my experience, making it all the more fulfilling.

The scenery on the trek was simply breathtaking. From lush forests to charming villages and high-altitude landscapes, every turn offered something new and exciting. The highlight for me was reaching the high camp at 4,500 meters, where I was rewarded with an unforgettable panoramic view of the surrounding peaks.

And, of course, reaching the Mardi Himal Base Camp was an unforgettable experience. The majestic Mardi Himal peak was simply awe-inspiring, and being able to witness it up close was a dream come true.

Overall, I highly recommend the Mardi Himal trek to anyone who loves adventure and wants to experience the beauty of the Himalayas in a more intimate and authentic way. And if you do decide to go, I would definitely recommend booking with Amigo Treks and Expedition - they helped make my trek an unforgettable experience!
