Ghorepani – Poonhill trek or simply Poon Hill trek is one of the best short treks in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Starting from the minimum elevation of 1025m (Birethanti), the trail takes you to the altitude of 2,860m Ghorepani and then 3,210m Poon Hill; that greets you with a magnificent view of early morning sun rays striking Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre and 20 other towering peaks of the Annapurna region. As Ghorepani, Poonhill trekking trail makes a complete circle both starting and ending at Nayapul, the trek is also famous as a small Annapurna circuit trekking.

Situated north of Nepal’s famous lake city, Pokhara, this short Poon Hill trek offers secreted wealth of Nepalese culture and natural beauty. Along with the view of mountains, trekkers can equally enjoy the company of cultivated terraces, waterfalls, dense rhododendron and oak forests full of chirping birds and flying butterflies - simply perfect for nature lovers. Moreover, Poon Hill, Ghorepani trek, is also an introduction to the culture, tradition, hospitality, farming practices and lifestyle of different ethnic groups including Gurung and Magar. Poon Hill (the best view point of the entire Annapurna region), Ghandruk (a culturally rich Gurung village included in the world heritage site list), Pokhara (the lake city) and natural hot spring at Jhinu Danda are some major highlights of this trek.

Trekking to Ghorepani, Poon Hill is considerably easy; therefore, it is suitable for all age groups looking to embrace the beauty of nature for a few days without having to climb the altitude. It’s simply great because there is no risk of altitude sickness. This is the best trek for people who do not have sufficient time to attempt other long treks like Annapurna Base Camp Trek (16 days), and Annapurna Circuit Trek (20 days) in the Annapurna region. 10 Days Ghorepani, Poon Hill trek itinerary designed by Amigo Treks and Expedition offers every opportunity to enjoy the entire natural and cultural beauty of the region. The Ghorepani Poonhill trek cost depends upon the number of days and other special requirements. This Ghorepani, Poon Hill trek package includes meals, accommodation and safe drinking water, whichcan be fully customized to your requirements with some special group discounts. Winter – December, January and February are good months to plan the Ghorepani – Poon Hill Trek, provided you can stand the cold weather.

Professionalism at its best

Rating:

From the time I started researching on my trip to Poon Hill, Amigo was already quick to respond to my queries.

My guide Navaraj was very easy to get along & extremely professional in conducting the trip, always ensuring my needs were taken care of throughout the trek. My trip was a bit more expensive as it included a porter, Vishnu, who was also very reliable in ensuring my belongings were carried safely from point to point.

Overall, I had a great experience with Amigo, and would definitely recommend to anyone heading to the Himalayas!

Highly recommended best trekking company in Nepal

Rating:

My friend and I booked our 8 day Poonhill Trek with Amigo Treks and found dealing with Tika very easy. He was extremely professional, communication was excellent and i heard back from him very quickly. We were met on arrival by our amazing guide Bikal at the airport, taken to wonderful accommodation that we could not fault, met Tika to discuss last minute details before setting off the following day. We are really impressed as the whole trip ran so smoothly even during the petrol crisis in Nepal. Tika and Bikal ensured all transport was arranged and went the extra mile to ensure our trip ran to our itinerary. Both Bikal (our guide) and Promod our super Sherpaman were amazing the whole trip. They ensured we had enough water, food (which was amazing), were healthy and happy throughout the trek. The teahouses were all of great standard, basic but clean, comfortable and with delicious food. They were both extremely professional and Bikal was very knowledgeable about the area, culture, language, other Nepalese treks and made amazing recommendations for restaurants, shopping and helped plan future trekking routes. As two females travelling we felt safe the entire time and were so impressed with Tika and his team we are already planning another trip back with family and friends next year. We could not fault Amigo Treks and would highly recommend to anyone considering trekking in Nepal- 5 stars!!

Excellence team (guide and portals). Our poon hill trek (3D2N) was amazing with the caring and good service from the team of guide & portals. our group consist of different stamina along the trek, so we always split up into 2-3 small groups. Amigo guide and portal split up to accompany each of the small groups to ensure we are safe and always provide assistance when needed. Our tour guide also have good sense of weather forecast. it was raining on our first day trek, he told us the rain will stop soon so that we don't need to walk under the rain. his prediction is very accurate. thanks for their patient and always motivate us so that we can finish each day journey. Thanks Tikka for his hospitality and super nice arrangement for our arrival in Kathmandu.

Excellent experience and a wonderful guide / porter team!

Rating:

My husband, mother, mother-in-law and I did the Poon Hill trek for 4 nights/5 days. We booked on arrival in Kathmandu and found it to be an easy and stress-free process. We were introduced to Tika in the Amigo Trekking office through out guesthouse and were not pressured to book the trek at all. We were given the information and prices and were even encouraged to shop around if we didn't feel sure, the only advice being to find a company that made us feel safe and happy. The trek itself was really wonderful! Out guide Naba was very professional and knowledgeable and answered all our questions about the mountains, Nepali culture and everything else. He and our super-porter Ranjan looked after us in the tea houses - refilling our water for us and making sure our food was served on time (which, by the way, was delicious)! We were also lucky enough to have perfect weather each day. Overall we had a memorable experience and felt very safe and cared for. Thank you so much to Tika, Naba and Ranjan for your kind hearts and heads full of knowledge!!!
