Ghorepani – Poonhill trek or simply Poon Hill trek is one of the best short treks in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Starting from the minimum elevation of 1025m (Birethanti), the trail takes you to the altitude of 2,860m Ghorepani and then 3,210m Poon Hill; which greets you with a magnificent view of early morning sun rays striking Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre and 20 other towering peaks of the Annapurna region. As Ghorepani, the Poonhill trekking trail makes a complete circle both starting and ending at Nayapul, the trek is also famous as a small Annapurna circuit trekking.

Situated north of Nepal’s famous lake city, Pokhara, this short Poon Hill trek offers secreted wealth of Nepalese culture and natural beauty. Along with the view of mountains, trekkers can equally enjoy the company of cultivated terraces, waterfalls, dense rhododendron, and oak forests full of chirping birds and flying butterflies - simply perfect for nature lovers. Moreover, Poon Hill, Ghorepani trek, is also an introduction to the culture, tradition, hospitality, farming practices, and lifestyle of different ethnic groups including Gurung and Magar. Poon Hill (the best viewpoint of the entire Annapurna region), Ghandruk (a culturally rich Gurung village included in the world heritage site list), Pokhara (the lake city), and the natural hot spring at Jhinu Danda are some major highlights of this trek.

Trekking to Ghorepani, Poon Hill is considerably easy; therefore, it is suitable for all age groups looking to embrace the beauty of nature for a few days without having to climb the altitude. It’s simply great because there is no risk of altitude sickness. This is the best trek for people who do not have sufficient time to attempt other long treks like Annapurna Base Camp Trek (16 days), and Annapurna Circuit Trek (20 days) in the Annapurna region. 10 Days Ghorepani, Poon Hill trek itinerary designed by Amigo Treks and Expedition offers every opportunity to enjoy the entire natural and cultural beauty of the region. The Ghorepani Poonhill trek cost depends upon the number of days and other special requirements. This Ghorepani, Poon Hill trek package includes meals, accommodation, and safe drinking water, which can be fully customized to your requirements with some special group discounts. Moreover, all the customized packages guarantee a 100% departure date.

Though the trek can be planned any time of the year, February to May and September to December is the most preferable time to plan this trek. Enjoy your trip!
