Travel Insurance
You should have travel insurance to be adequately protected in terms of insurance. A travel insurance policy that should cover cancellation, injury, death, lost baggage, theft, liability, medical treatment and expenses is strongly recommended. Make sure the insurance covers all the activities that you will be undertaking during your stay in Nepal. If a client becomes ill, all hospital expenses, doctors' fees and repatriation costs are the client's responsibility. If you are injured and unable to travel, you can ask for a rescue helicopter from a remote area only if you have definite proof you can pay for it. They pay a cash deposit to the helicopter operator and collect the money from you if you have been rescued. Be sure your policy specifically covers those.

Health and Fitness
We strongly recommend you to consult the doctor before planning your holidays. You should obtain professional advice from a travel clinic or your local GP about which vaccinations to have before you arrive in Nepal. Your doctor will advise current inoculation requirements. If a doctor has recommended against travel or indicated travel may be inconvenient then kindly inform us of the details. On all trekking and exploratory trips technical experience is not required, hiking/camping experience is an advantage, but by far the most important thing is a positive attitude and a generous amount of determination. We run regular first aid courses for our all trekking guides and Sherpa helpers.

Foods and Accommodation
In Kathmandu we use tourist standard hotel to ensure a comfortable stay and relaxed environment before and after your adventure. All breakfasts are included at the hotel in Kathmandu. Rooms are generally twin share – depending on group size and room availability, triple share may be offered up on your request. A single supplement room is available at an additional cost for accommodation and required expenses during the trek to provide good quality food and services. For breakfast you expect to have porridge, toast or chapattis, omelet and local bread. We will provide all meals on full board (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and tea & coffee) from the teahouse menu during the trekking period. Whilst trekking on Annapurna, the accommodation is in guesthouses or Lodges which are basic with shared facilities. Some lodges offers shower and mostly offers bucket hot water up on request. During the trip you can expect for 2 times hot shower.

Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek Review(s)

Amazing trek to Annapurna Base Camp

Rating:

We organised the trip with the manager Tika. He was helpful and quick to respond to questions via email. We requested a private trek (2 of us) and this was no problem for Amigo.
The trek itself was amazing, we got a large snow dump after 3 days, the guide (Rishi) knew exactly which areas to avoid for avalanches and was well versed on alternate routes, he was always making sure we were ok. The porter (Umesh, aka "superman") stayed with us for most of the time and was ever helpful. Shared accomodation was meant for the higher altitude tea houses, but a private room was arranged for us every night.
Rishi provided fruit for us after every meal, which was very nice!
I would have no hesitation in recommending Amigo trekking to anyone. thanks for a truly memorable trip.

Completed Successful A.B.C trek on March 2017

Rating:

We would absolutely recommend Amigo Treks & Expedition to anyone who wants to go trekking to Nepal. Initially, we planned to go Dingboche Ri but due to the weather condition, we changed our plan to Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek. We started our journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara and then next morning we went to Nayapul. Our trek guide Mr. Rajan and porter Mr. Sagar are professional, experienced, responsible and friendly. They were great companions and provided great mountain service with a happy smile during long treks for 8 days. Mr. Rajan shared many stories regarding various mountains, treks, and adventures. Sometimes he showed us magic and cracked the joke that made our journey more relaxed. He was caring and always checked our physical condition, whether we have sufficient clothing. Mr. Sagar helped us sharing load and prepared dessert for the dinner. Even though we were slow while walking but they never lost patience and told us "Bistari, Bistari". We would absolutely make sure you have these two guys with you. They have made our trip one that we will remember for a very long time. We will definitely choose to book through Amigo Trekking again and recommend to all!!!

Namaste!
Me and my friends joined the Amigo Treks and Expedition for the 8-day Annapurna Base Camp Trek and we had a wonderful time spending with the crew along the journey.

The crew members including the trekking guide, oxygen guide and the porters are all very friendly and kind in person.

We were having some bad time due to unfit condition of our team member but the guide gave us different kind of advises and discussion in order to let all the members achieve the target. All the team members made it to the ABC Base Camp on the schedule time and we were all very happy.

I recommend our guide: Navaraj Magar. He speaks good english and very helpful

Also thanks to the oxygen guide and porters:
-Ranjan
-Nabaraj
-Mama
-Baje

Amigo Treks & Expedition is definitely a right choice for your trekking exploration in Nepal.

Awesome trekking company with fantastic guides! [Nava]

Rating:

We just completed our 8 day trek to Annapurna Base Camp with Amigo Treks and we counted ourselves extremely lucky to have Nava as our guide!

Booking with the company was smooth from the very start. Tika was very helpful with our enquires and he responded very promptly. Even thought I asked a lot of questions before I finally made my booking, he was always patient and answered all my questions clearly. It was this kind of customer service and attention to detail that made me decide to book with Amigo Treks eventually...and after meeting & chatting with many other trekkers who booked with other companies during the trek, I was even more happy that I decided to go with Amigo!

Highlights:

- We often get to stay at one of the top teahouses among the selection at our stop. Given that the nature of the teahouses were rather basic during the entire ABC trek, I appreciated the fact my guide Nava took the effort to select the few hotels/teahouses with hot water for the first few days

- While many other trekking companies also include meals in their trekking package, we were the only trekking group that had meals provided WITH A PLATE OF FRUITS EVERYDAY! I know these things seems simple but during the trek, it was such a luxury! You could literally see other people's heads turning when our guide serve us our plate of fruits. I witness this twice personally and we even had 2 people who came up to ask which company we've booked with and why we always have pomegranates, bananas and apples after our meals!

On a personal note, the plate of fruits were very helpful and I appreciated it even more so as we got nearer to base camp as I was losing my appetite due to the high altitudes and the sweet fruits were the only thing I find myself having the appetite to swallow.

Special mention to our amazing guide Nava:

(Request for him if you get the opportunity to, because it would be the best thing that can happen to you during your trek!)

He took very good care of us throughout the entire treks through the small little things he did...

- He will always walk behind the slowest member of our group and pay extra attention to them. As I was trekking with my wife who walks at a slower pace, this is a fact that I appreciate very much.

- At the base camp, he kept making it a point to let us know where we can find him during the night. This was particularly important when one of my team members had a splitting headache at 4am. We were super thankful for his help and his medication.

- When we have Nava as our guide, he always bring us to all the special "attractions" about each place. For example, when we were at the base camp, he brought us out to witness the beautiful sunset on Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) mountain while other guides and guests were huddling in the teahouse. The next morning, he brought us out to see the spectacular sunrise on Annapurna 1 even before the rest of the other people arrived. Even though other people were on the same trek and same route as us, it felt like we had a more comprehensive version of the Annapurna Base Camp trek because of our guide!

- He also gave us inside tips on each teahouse along the way such as, which teahouse had great hot showers, which teahouse had slow wifi so that we won't spend our money unwisely.

- After the entire trip has ended, he even brought me to a trekking shop during one of his free days as I mentioned to him that I want to buy a down jacket to bring back home! That's great service that I completely didn't expect!

Also, the team of porters that trekked with us were wonderful as well. Nabajar (our assistant guide), Deepak and Sudip. These guys made sure that our bags always arrived at the teahouse on time. We are extremely appreciative of them for that.

All in all, if I'm going to do another trekking trip in Nepal, I'm definitely going to go with Amigo.

They truly give you a first class trekking experience!

Our group of 5 recently completed our ABC trek with Amigo and were introduced to our guide Nava.

He is a knowledgable guide that speaks good English and also shared with us many things about Nepal and also the trek. It was interesting to learn about his experiences. Nava took good care of us when some of us had altitude sickness at ABC. Accomodations arranged for us was always the best.

During our booking correspondence, Tika was very prompt in his replies and accomodating to our requests. Thank you Amigo and Tika for such a wonderful experience in Nepal!

ABC Trek, One of the most memorable experiences of my life

Rating:

I recently booked the Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Amigo Treks based on their stellar reviews and I was not disappointed! Tika responded quickly to my many inquiries prior to my arrival and even had a member of his staff personally take me to a store in Kathmandun to purchase a rain coat and new boots. The Trek guide Bikal even arranged for my wife and I to have dinner for her birthday in town before I left. My guide Bikal and the porter Manu arranged everything for me including picking me up from the hotel, getting bus tickets, hotel in Pokhara, etc. I did not have to think about a single thing except for choosing meals and enjoying the stunning backdrop of the Annapurnas. The food was tasty and filling and Bikal made sure that we were sufficiently hydrated and the timing of the breaks.were perfect. Our Porter Manu carried 3 bags tied together with rope in a configuration almost larger than his body! He never once complained and always had a big smile on his face. I simply cannot say enough good things about Bikal and Manu! From start to finish, the journey was incredible and I would recommend Amigo Treks to anyone who wants to hike to the Annapurna Base Camp. Hopefully I will be able to use their services again to tackle Everest Base Camp!

The Best Tour Company in Nepal and Thank you Tika & Bikal

Rating:

I cannot recommend this company enough. I had backpacked through India for a month before landing in Kathmandu. I wanted to do the ABC Base Camp trek. From the moment i contacted Tika i knew i was in good hands. When i went to meet Tika he was super friendly and informative from the start, there were no group tours on the day i wanted to leave so he planned a solo personal trip for me. Nothing was too much trouble. The price of the trek was the lowest i found and amazing value for money. My guide for the trek was Bikal, if you book with ABC i highly recommend him! Awesome guy, funny, informative and super friendly. Throughout my trek nothing was too much, helping me take photos, telling me about everywhere we passed, my porter was amazing too. Everynight i was served fresh fruit and we played cards between us. I wanted the solo experience and i still met trekkers along the way but it was the people i trekked with that made this experience even better. Overall, i have never seen views so beautiful, laughed so much or spent a better 10 days. If you are reading this guys i cannot thank you enough ! I plan to hopefully return to Nepal late in the year for Everest Base camp, if i do there only one place im going to book through! See you guys soon!
