Annapurna Base Camp, undoubtedly, is one of the best viewpoints in the world. It probably is the only place on earth, where you can feast your eyes on the dramatic view of amphitheatre-shaped massif -‘The Annapurna Massif’. This 55 kilometer long massif, containing one peak over 8000 meters, 13 peaks over 7000 meters and 16 peaks over 6000 meters, is simply one of the best creations of nature. The view of the panorama: Annapurna South, Bahara Shikar, Annapurna I, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhre, Hiun Chuli and other sister peaks from the base camp are very much enticing.

In addition to this, Annapurna Base Camp trek or the Annapurna Sanctuary route, which is beautifully accompanied by the amazing variety of terrain including, lowland pastures, bamboo and rhododendron forest, alpine scrub and culturally and artistically rich hillside villages will give you a life changing experience.

Starting Nayapul, the walk through Tikhedhunga, Ulleri, Ghorepani, Tadapani, Chhomrong and Deurali to the Annapurna Base Camp. The clockwise return continues through Bamboo, Jhinu Hot Spring, Landuk and ends at Pothana.

Although 15 days Annapurna Base Camp trek is Amigo’s standard package, we can plan your trekking as per your requirements, ensuring the best trekking guide. However, our standard package guarantees the benefits of all meals and accommodation during the trek and bed and breakfast, before and after the trek. The sightseeing tour UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kathmandu and some special places in Pokhara are also included in the package. The company also guarantees 100% departure on all customized trips with special group discount.

However, shorter trips in the Annapurna region like 10 days Ghorepani – Poon Hill Trek and 12 days Annapurna Panorama Trek are equally fulfilling. These treks aren’t physically demanding, therefore, they are also perfect for family vacation. For supportive weather, plan your vacation either during spring or autumn and enjoy the trek. Nevertheless, if the Annapurna Base Camp is your target and, if you are limited by time, then we highly recommend our 11 days Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek Packge for you.

Travel Insurance:

This piece of information is for everyone planning their next trek to the Annapurna Base Camp in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Please get a travel insurance that covers all the added expenses that might result due to various health issues, injuries or accidents (together with air ambulance, helicopter rescue and other treatment cost). Also, make sure that your insurance policy covers all extra activities that you are planning to accomplish throughout your stay in Nepal. In addition to this, the policy should also cover death, misplaced luggage, theft and liability, cancellations, medical treatment (counting hospital charges, cost of the medicine, doctor’s fees) as well as repatriation cost. As this trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal takes you above the altitude of 4000m, it is kindly requested to ensure that your insurance policy covers treks that go over 4000m. In short, its client himself/herself has to take the responsibility regarding the entire unforeseen expenses during the trip.

Health, fitness and experience requirements:

Altitudes in the Annapurna region of Nepal definitely demand excellent stamina, tough determination, and the best health condition. Some sections of the trek are quite demanding and some days might even require 6-8 hours of walking.

Though trek to the Annapurna Base Camp is considered moderate and easily attainable, it is highly suggested to seek advice, medications and permission from your doctor before scheduling your trek.  It is also recommended to take expert guidance from your local General Practitioner regarding necessary guide walks prior to your trek in Nepal. In the absence of GP, seeking advice from travel clinic is also considered as a very good idea.

Moreover, the good news is that, no technical skill is required to plan your trek or any other exploratory trips in Nepal. However, your prior hiking or camping experience will definitely be considered as a plus point. Also, a few weeks of regular exercise and jogging is recommended before the trip to build up the required stamina.

Food and Accommodation:

We always make sure that our customers get the right value for their money. Therefore, we always attempt to make some of the best arrangements for our customers. To ensure a comfortable stay, we book tourist standard hotel in Kathmandu before and after your trek. Normally, the rooms are twin share, where you will have to share your room with another member of your group. However, this totally depends on the size of your group and the availability of rooms in the hotel. On request, triple share can also be arranged. However, if you are looking for a single supplement room, extra charges will be applied. During the trek, your stay is arranged in a local guesthouse or lodges with shared amenities. You can also enjoy a hot shower in these lodges. In the absence of shower few buckets of hot water can also be arranged on request. A full board meal (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and tea &coffee) will be provided from the teahouse menu during the entire trek. Usually, porridge, toast or chapattis, oatmeal and local bread are served for breakfast. The food served for lunch and dinner are simply great.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek Review(s)

Great experience - Amigo is easy to organise with and excellent guide and porter

Rating:

My husband and I did the Annapurna Base Camp Trek.

Our guide, Raaj, was excellent. He was organised, capable, reliable, reassuring, encouraging and always happy. He was well prepared and told us to get crampons for the Base Camp which turned out to be essential. We met other trekkers who did not have them and it would have been more difficult and dangerous without them. Raaj involved us when decisions had to be made and he really wanted us to have the best experience possible. We always felt we could trek at whatever pace we were happy with.

We also couldn't have done it without Bharat, our porter. He was also always cheerful, looked out for us and even played us beautiful music on his flute.

Amigo made it very easy to tailor the trip to our wants. Niti was so prompt answering my questions and she made it very simple to arrange everything.

Amigo's day trip of Kathmandu was excellent. Niti organised a great trip to Chitwan and airport pickups and dropoffs all went smoothly.

It was a very memorable adventure. We are so glad we did it and very happy with Amigo Treks.

I highy recommend Amigo Treks. Our trip was very well-organised, everything has been taken care of. Our guide, Niraj, was knowledgeable and fun to be around. Also our porter, Arjun, was amazing and super friendly.

The trek is an unfogettable experience, with changing landscapes, local villages, beautiful bamboo forests and even hot springs. We had our entire itinerary, accommodation and food organised for us

I recommend Amigo Treks to everyone thinking about a trek in the Himalaya. Thank you for the amazing experience!

Amazing trek and excellent service!

Rating:

I am a solo traveller. I was worried about this trip as I pushed out my trip from Easter to Aug due to my back issue. However Aug was monsoon season and the trekking may be difficult.

When I arrived Kathmandu, Tika explained the trip details and expected weather condition. He is friendly, professional, patient and fast response (email) .

During 8 days trek, I went with Ranjan (tour guide) and Gopal (porter). They know the trek very well and told me what I need to pay attention to next 2-3 hours trek (up/down/ lots of bridges/ pay attention to leeches etc). We walked like a “sandwish” and I was always in the middle which they tried their best to make sure my safety. In some areas which have a lot of leeches, they put salt on my shoes and checked my shoes, trekking pole, pants every 2 mins to ensure I am “leeches free” (I am serious. They did this!) I was well protected and I didn’t get any leeches bite even in monsoon season. Thanks Ranjan and Gopal!

When I arrived base camp, I had headache. They always checked my condition, reminded me to wear enough clothes and drank water. I was being taken good care of.

since I travelled alone, they did respect me a lot. They are willing to teach me Nepali. I had a wonderful trekking experience. I am so lucky to trek with them.

Definitely I will come to Nepal again (EBC 😌) and will join Amigo!  I don’t know how to  express my gratitude. Really thanks for Tika, Ranjan and Gopal.

wonderful walking holiday

Rating:

Just finished relaxing and enjoyable ABC trek with 16 year old son and treasure the experience. We enjoyed the company and laughs with our guide Nerij and porter Deepak who worked well together and were excellent. Nerij was mindful of our welfare, trying to get us to eat and drink more and advising us what to expect each day and at ABC. He also liased well about altering the itinery slightly which suited us well.We were very lucky with the weather and had amazing clear views especilly at ABC which was really a bonus as the walking is just great in itself. Estimated times from guide were accurate and plenty of rest stops if needed. Though working , walking either up or down  the days were most pleasurable and satisfying.Love walking in Nepal and very happy with all Amigo staff and service.

Amazing Experience

Rating:

We were wondering which company to book with to the the Annapurna Base Camp trek in March/April. We sent out 5 emails to 5 different trekking companies, and Amigo Treks & Expedition stood out from the beginning. The follow-up prior to coming to Nepal was very informative, extremely helpful and prompt.

Our guide's name was Rajan and he was very knowledgeable, experienced and helpful. We always felt safe and comfortable in the teahouses where everything went great! Raj always put us in the mood and was a great leader and motivator! Our porter Promod was always a very reliable and sweet guy, we were very lucky on every front.

I highly recommend this company and I also recommend that you ask for Raj as a guide! You will not regret it.

Have fun and Namaste

The Trek was as described but far exceeded our expectations

Rating:

As first time trekkers we really did not know what to expect and was first attracted to this site due to the extent of the reviews and the fact that the company is based and run by Nepaliese (Tika)

We booked the 8 day Annapurna Base Camp trek (23rd Nov +) and was very well informed and organised from the start, the whole team delivered 100%

We would like to thank Tika, Dinesh Lamichhane our Guide and Shunda our porter for making the trip fun and memorable; who as well as excellent organisational and communication skills made everything seem efortless and adapted to meet our needs.

The Trek was as described but far exceeded our expectations as far a natural beauty, flora and fauna!

I cannot see why anyone would pay more when all of the accomodation and food within the sanctury is restricted and made standard (for hygiene and logistical reasons). there is no first class...! but accomodation is clean and tidy with amazing views and communal dining which gives you a chance to meet others who are all in the same boat!

You do need to be fairly fit for this and need to have put in some effort in advance.. up to 7 hours trekking a day with some long sweaty accents... but soooooo worth it!

If you are still reading this.... What are you waiting for... BOOK IT!

Thank you once again and hope to see you again Amigo's.

Ross & Snowy - (40 yrs ish)

Annapurna Basecamp Trek Review

Here's a picture of us, our guide, Navaraj, our porters Sudip and guide assistant? Nabaraj enjoyking dinner together on our last day at Pokhara! Thankful to have Nava and his team with us on our 7 day trek to Annapurna basecamp. During our journey trekking up, Nava never hesitates to share stories and pointing out the various mountains to us..love all the stories, jokes, adventures and experiences that he shared with us over our meals or tea time! He is a great story teller..somehow you'll just wanna listen to him when he speaks. Definitely a down to earth man with big dreams and a big heart. We are incredibly blessed to have him as our guide during this hiking trip..he constantly check on us, making sure that we are well physically, whether we have sufficient clothing etc..😊😊😊 I was experiencing intense cramps on the day when we are reaching the Annapurna basecamp, hence I was walking at "tortoise" pace. Yet, he didn't rush me but simply encouraged me" It's okay, Bistari, Bistari.." Bistari means slowly slowly in Nepali..😊 I was ultraaaa bistari during a couple of days but Navaraj just follow behind me step by step, ensuring my safety and well-being. Thank you Nava! Couldn't be more grateful to have you guiding and helping us with all the lodging & preparations! Definitely recommend Nava and his team to those are looking to join a trekking trip!

Fantastic team and experience!

Rating:

Our group of 5 decided to embark on the Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Amigo Treks based on the cost and reviews online, and we now are satisfied customers ourselves! Everything was seamless and fuss-free from the start: communication with Tika, meeting Tika & our guide Nava the day before the trek, and throughout the entire 8-day trek.

I will like to specially commend Nava for his attentiveness and professionalism. We have no problem communicating in English. As an experienced guide he possessed knowledge of the various treks through Nepal, accurate information on how much longer we have to walk for the day and encouraged us each step of the way. He ensured we felt okay and were well-fed. I had a bad headache in the middle of the night at base camp and Nava didn't mind me waking him up for some medication. Even after the trek he assisted with accommodation at Pokhara when we decided last minute to extend our stay, made our bus bookings and met us on his off-day back in Thamel to bring us shopping for some gear!

Our team of porters were excellent as well; Sudip and Deepak were full of energy and smiles, and made sure we have our backpacks at the end of each day. Nabaraj as an assistant guide was also excellent, walking with us and helping with meal orders. The rapport among the entire team was good and we had much fun and laughter sharing snacks, stories and mingling!

Thank you Amigo Treks, we are glad to have made it to base camp with this team and when we are back in Nepal for more trekking we would be looking forward to share the adventure with Nava, Nabaraj, Sudip and Deepak again!

10 out of 10, 5 stars!

The ABC with amigo trek was truly amazing experience. Fantastic travel agency that exceeded all my expectations. I can't think of other companies better to do it! Everything from the pre trek planning to my post trek back to kathmandu was handled professionally and flawlessly. Months before getting to Nepal, I've asked tons of questions and bothered Tika a lot, but I've always got nice, quick response from him:)

I was picked up at the airport and then they took me to the quality accomodation. I could take a rest fully and be ready for city tour the following day. We took around all historical places with well trained guide, Sushma. She was amazing person to tell evey single detail of places, history and some of hidden stories as well.

My guide, Rajan and porter, Sudarsan always took care of me during the whole trek. I stopped a lot on the way up, and I was able to walk at my own pace. No rush No hassle! All the lodges and tea houses along the trek were perfectly arranged and they are comfortable and clean. Even I was served fresh fruit up in the mountain with ever meal.

As I was so sick from the middle of the trek, I barely talked and even I couldn't walk properly. Raj always asked me how I feel, and checked out my condition. He is genuinely caring. It has been a big comfort and support to make me go up to the Base camp finally. I'm pretty sure that I couldn't make it without him.

And as a solo female, I highly recommend my guide and porter. They were very cautious and gentle, especially Raj always knock on my door to call me out and make me feel very comfortable. I felt totally safe with that issue.:)

I plan to reteurn to do some of the other treks Amigo trek offeres. I will have no hesitation in recommending this company to my family, friends or anyone planning to visit Nepal. Thank you so much for everything.

This was an amazing trip

This was an amazing trip. Perfectly organized by Tika and the team. Our guide Rawal was very experienced, nothing was too much trouble and he took us on a wonderful, breathtaking trek over the 7-8 days. I would definitely ask for Rawal, use Amigo Trek again and would highly recommend them for anyone wanting to trek Nepal.

Amazing Trip & Best Team

Rating:

I've always wanted to go trekking in the Himalayas so when I recently found myself with 2 and a half weeks of free time I booked a last minute trip with Amigo Trekking. Everything about this trek was amazing, the guide and porter were great and the views were undescribable. From the moment I arrived everything worked smoothly despite the fuel crisis that seemed to be affecting other travellers. A big thanks to Rishi and the team for making this an awesome holiday.
