Manaslu Trek with Larkya La pass, Manaslu Circuit Trek or even Around Manaslu Trek- all these names direct you no where else, but towards a very genuine adventure around the world’s eighth highest mountain Manaslu (8,163m). A genuine adventure, because following  the ancient salt-trade-route of Tibet along the Budhi Gandaki River, the trail passes through the subtropical jungle at lower elevation and  the Himalayan foothills to the high, freezing and demanding Larkya La Pass above 5000m; offering everything that classic treks in Nepal have to offer. The deep gorges with spectacular trails connected by bridges, snow covered pass, a rich Ecotone diversity, and nineteen different types of forests providing shelter to 2000 species of plants, 33 mammals, 110 species of birds, 3 reptiles and 11 butterflies; beautiful scenery of majestic Himalayan ranges and high altitude glacier lakes are just to name a few. The Samdo village, the highest village in the Budhi Gandaki valley  inhibited by Bhotias, stunning view of  Cheo Himal, Himlung  Himal and Kung Guru, and the biological and cultural diversity are simply very much worth the effort.

The Manaslu Trekking trail encompasses the Annapurna and Manaslu conservation areas, Budhi Gandaki and Marsyangdi valley, Indo-Aryan and Tibetan-influenced habitations and Annapurna and Manaslu circuit trails, making it one of the most fulfilling remote treks in Nepal. This trekking route receives a less number of trekkers compared to the other trekking in Nepal; thus, making it the best  trekking route for trekkers looking to avoid the traffic that is normally found in the Everest and Annapurna route. Moreover, the popularity is rapidly increasing with the growing number of tea houses at everyday stop.

Amigo Treks and Expedition’s 19 days Manaslu Trek with Larkya La Pass is a standard teahouse trekking package that offers the benefits of the full board (meal and accommodation) during the trek and bed and breakfast in a tourist standard hotel in Kathmandu; all ground transportation; required permits, and knowledgeable, licensed and experienced English speaking guide. The package is fully customizable; therefore, can be changed as per your requirements and need. We guarantee departure on all customized packages.  The company also offers a special discount if you bring a group along with you.

This trek can be planned any time of the year; however, spring and autumn are more supportive in terms of weather, visibility and trail. Nevertheless, if you are looking for some other remote trekking routes in Nepal  the Upper Mustang Trek, the Nar Phu Valley Trek , and the Tsum Valley Trek are highly recommended.

Travel Insurance:
This piece of information is for everyone planning the Manaslu Trek with Larkya La Pass in the Manaslu region of Nepal. Trekkers require a travel insurance that covers all the added expenses that might result due to various health issues, injuries, or accidents (together with air ambulance, helicopter rescue and other treatment cost). Trekkers should also ensure that their insurance policy covers all extra activities that they are planning to accomplish throughout their stay in Nepal.  In addition to this, the policy should also cover death, misplaced luggage, theft and liability, cancellations, medical treatment (counting hospital charges, cost of the medicine, doctor’s fees) as well as repatriation cost.

Moreover, this trekking trail in Nepal takes trekkers above the altitude of 5000meter. Therefore, trekkers should also ensure that their insurance policy covers treks that go over 5000meter. In short, its client himself/herself has to take the responsibility regarding any unforeseen expenses during the trip.

Health, fitness and experience requirements:

The Manaslu Trek with Larkya La Pass in the Manaslu region of Nepal is considered a strenuous; however, anyone with average physical fitness level and sound health can plan this trek.

However, it is highly suggested to seek advice, medication and permission from your doctor before scheduling your trek.  It is also recommended to take expert guidance from your local General Practitioner regarding the necessary guide walks prior to this trek. In the absence of GP, seeking advice from travel clinics is also considered as a very good idea.

Moreover, no technical skill is required to plan your trek or any other exploratory trips in Nepal. Nevertheless, your prior hiking or camping experience will definitely be considered as a plus point. Also, a few weeks of regular exercise and jogging is recommended before the trip, in order to build up the required stamina.

Note:

We kindly request you to inform us regarding your present health condition, medical situation, preceding illness and the medications you are taking. We expect you to be honest regarding these issues, so that we can get prepared for emergencies.

Food and Accommodation:

Amigo family always makes sure that our customers get the right value for their money. Therefore, we always attempt to make some of the best arrangements for our customers, both in terms of food and accommodation.

To ensure a comfortable stay, we book a tourist standard hotel in Kathmandu; before and after the trek. Normally, the rooms available are a twin share, where trekkers will have to share their room with another member of their group.  However, this totally depends on the size of the group and the availability of rooms in the hotel. On request, a triple share can also be arranged. However, extra charges will be applicable for trekkers looking for a single supplement room. During the trek, the accommodation is arranged in local guest houses, lodges or basic teahouses managed by local people. These lodges and guest houses provide clean and comfortable rooms with basic amenities.

A full board meal (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Tea & Coffee) will be provided during the entire trek. You can enjoy western food (subject to availability) as well as Nepali and Tibetan food. The food is usually served from a teahouse menu during the trek. The food provided during the trek is fresh, healthy simply great.

Our attempt while you are on a trek:

Most of the trekking trails in Nepal take you to the remote Himalayan and Hilly regions of Nepal, where communication facilities are very less. Therefore, Amigo Treks and Expedition takes all the responsibility and makes attempt to deliver your message to your family, friends, relatives or the concerned person.

However, in this trek, telephone services are available up till Samdo before Larkya La and Gho after Larkya La. Therefore, our guides are provided with a cell phone and are contacted on a regular basis. In any kind of emergency, trekkers can use the cell phone provided to the guides to send their message to us, which will further be delivered to the respected person.

Moreover, our guides will make every possible attempt to follow the planned itinerary; however, it is kindly requested to be flexible in case of changes in the provided itinerary, caused by extreme weather condition or bad health condition of a group member. Moreover, we can also help you reschedule your international flight (extra charges applicable), if trekkers need any additional days to complete their trek. We will make every possible endeavor to make your trek ‘a grand success’.
