The first stop is Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), where you’ll spend about 45 minutes to an hour soaking in the panoramic views and exploring the sacred stupa and surrounding shrines. Next, you’ll head to Kathmandu Durbar Square to discover its historic temples, palaces, courtyards and museums, spending approximately 2.5 hours uncovering the rich Malla-era heritage. From here you will drive to Boudhnath, one of the largest stupas in the world. Take a peaceful walk around the stupa, spin the prayer wheels alongside monks and pilgrims, and explore the nearby monasteries and museums. Enjoy a lunch break of about 45 minutes to 1 hour at a local restaurant with a stupa view. After lunch, you will continue to the sacred Hindu site of Pashupatinath. Spend around 45 minutes to an hour exploring the temple complex, observing the spiritual rituals, and witnessing open-air cremation ceremonies along the bank of the Bagmati River. Around 4:00 PM, you will leave Pashupatinath and head to Nagarkot. Reach your hotel in Nagarkot around 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Check into the hotel, enjoy sunset view and dinner and call it an early night. Overnight in a hotel in Nagarkot.
Day 02: Sunrise at Nagarkot, Changunarayan, Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square Unlike the previous day, the tour begins early in the morning, before sunrise. As per the sunrise time, you will be transferred to the sunrise viewpoint in Nagarkot to witness the sun rising over the Himalayas, allowing you to enjoy the panoramic view of the mountains. After spending some time taking in the views, you will be transferred back to the hotel for breakfast. The sightseeing tour begins after breakfast at the hotel in Nagarkot around 9:00 AM. Your first stop for the day is the ancient temple of Changu Narayan, Nepal’s oldest Hindu temple. Spend about 30 minutes exploring the temple grounds and the surrounding area before continuing to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Here, you’ll have 2-3 hours to wander through its beautifully preserved medieval architecture, visit key landmarks, and enjoy a traditional lunch. If you’d like to try your hands at pottery, an additional hour will be added to allow for this interactive experience. Next, you’ll head to Patan Durbar Square, where you’ll explore the historic palace complex as well as the sacred Golden Temple, one of Patan’s hidden gems.
