Day 1: Arrival day in Kathmandu

Welcome to Nepal. Upon your arrival, at the Tribhuvan International Airport, a company representative will meet you outside the luggage hall and transfer you to the hotel booked for you in Kathmandu, in a private vehicle. As per this package, the hotel booked for you will be 3-Star Standard and will be in Thamel.

The same person will help you with hotel check-in formalities and you can spend the rest of the day either resting or strolling around the tourist hub of Thamel. This area also offers a variety of restaurants to choose from, offering both, typical Nepali and Western cuisine, where you can grab your next meal.

If your flight is scheduled to arrive before noon, we will conduct a meeting at our office, in which we will formally introduce you to your guide, check your equipment, brief you regarding the trek, and settle the final payment. In case your flight is scheduled to arrive in the afternoon, late in the evening, or even at night, the meeting will be held the next day. Overnight in a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Trek preparation and drive to Ramechhap (4-5h), (During Peak Season)

As per the recent decision made by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, all flights to and from Lukla will operate from Ramechhap Airport, during the high season (March, April, May, October, November, and early December). In case the decision is made to operate flights from Kathmandu Airport, a full-day Kathmandu Valley sightseeing tour will be organized to utilize the day. You will visit 4 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, namely, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swyambhunath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square.

Today's breakfast will be provided at your hotel in Kathmandu. You will be given time to prepare your luggage. Once you are ready, we will start our journey to Ramechhap. Leaving Thamel, and soon following the B. P. highway we will continue towards our destination, past Bhaktapur and Dhulikhel. The drive along the Sun Koshi river to Khurkot, located at the confluence of the Sun Koshi and Tama Khoshi river, is very scenic and interesting.

From here, we will cross the bridge and leave the Sun Koshi river behind, we will continue to Ramechhap along the Tama Koshi river. We will stop at one of the highway restaurants for lunch and continue to Ramechhap. After reaching Ramechhap, we will check into the hotel and spend the remaining day resting. Overnight in a hotel/lodge in Ramechhap.

 Meals included: Breakfast and Dinner

Day 3: Fly to Lukla (12-15min) and trek to Phakding (2,610m/8,562ft), (8km), (4h),

To avoid bad weather and wind around noon and afternoon, most flights, to and from Lukla are scheduled early in the morning. Passenger reporting time at the Ramechhap Airport is one hour before the flight departure time. Therefore,  as per your flight time, your guide will transfer you to the Ramechhap Airport.

From here, you will fly to land at one of the most dangerous airports in the world, the Tenzing-Hillary Airport, in Lukla. The flight time is 12-15 minutes from Ramechhap Airport (30-35minutes from Kathmandu). The flight is equally scenic and thrilling.

Upon reaching the Lukla airport, your guide will introduce you to the rest of the crew members (porters), who will prepare the luggage, while you enjoy your first breakfast in the Everest region. Shortly after breakfast, the trek to our first overnight stop, Phakding, begins, leaving the bustling village of Lukla.

Apart from an occasional uphill climb on stone steps, the trail is fairly easy, short, and mostly downhill. Mani walls, prayer wheels, small stupas, suspension bridges, and small Sherpa settlements along the trail - all contribute to making the trail very interesting. You will reach Phakding around lunchtime. You will have a few hours to have lunch, rest, and freshen up.

Later in the afternoon, your guide will take you to a nearby monastery for an acclimatization hike. You will then come back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft), (10km), (7-8h)

Shortly after breakfast in Phakding, trek to Namche beings. The hike from Phakding to Monjo is on an easy up and down the trail that runs along the Dudh Koshi River, passing through soothing rhododendron forest. However, after crossing the third suspension bridge, past Zam Fute, Toktok, Bengkar, and Chhamuwa, after leaving Phakding, the trail to Monjo grows steeper.

Monjo is a gateway to Sagarmatha National Park. Here, your guide will take care of the national park formalities, after which, you will continue to Jorsalle for lunch. After lunch, you will further continue on a fairly easy up and down the trail to Hillary Bridge - the highest and the longest suspension bridge in the Everest region. Crossing the bridge, you will further continue up on a very steep trail to Namche, enjoying the very first view of Mt. Everest that appears sometimes after crossing the bridge. Overnight in a lodge (twin-room) in Namche.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day 5: Acclimatization day in Namche

Since you are already over 3000 meters from sea level, altitude acclimatization is a must, before gaining more altitude. To boost the process of acclimatization, you need to keep yourself active. Acclimatization hikes are the best way to keep yourself active, while you are in the mountains.  Therefore, after breakfast in Namche, today you will go for an acclimatization hike. Hike to the Everest View Hotel at Shyangboche (3,720m) and hike to the settlements of Khumjung (3,780m) and Khunde (3,840m) are the two very popular day hikes from Namche. Located 280-400m higher than Namche, these destinations make perfect hiking destinations to gradually expose your body to altitude and change in oxygen level in the air. Moreover, these hikes will also give you an insight into Sherpa settlement, culture and lifestyle, while allowing you to treat your eyes to the enchanting views of Mt. Everest with surrounding peaks.

After the hike, you can either choose to spend the remaining day relaxing in one of the cafes, bakeries, or restaurants in Namche Bazaar, or taking a stroll around the town of Namche. Overnight in a lodge (twin-room) in Namche.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

This clockwise flat trail first descends to Phurte past Gongla. A number of chortens, Mani walls and prayer flags make the trail very interesting. Past Phurte, you will cross the Thesebu River and hike to the village of Thamo, which is a collection of old stone houses that make a perfect stop for a tea break. You will then hike to Samde following the trail that runs along the Bhote Koshi River. You will now hike down to cross the bridge over the Bhote Koshi River, before making a final ascent to Thame.
