Gosainkunda is an alpine freshwater oligotrophic lake situated at the altitude of 4,380m in the Langtang National Park of Nepal. As per Hindu mythology, Gosainkunda is an abode of Lord Shiva and Gauri and is considered one of the holy sites in Nepal. Therefore, this site receives an influx of Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims throughout the year and especially during the Gangadashahara and the Janai Purnima festivals. Since the lake lies in the Dunche –Helambu trekking route, this site is also visited by lots of trekkers every year.
Normally, this religious site is 2 days walk from Dhunche, but the Gosainkunda Helicopter Tour by Amigo Treks and Expedition makes it possible for you to complete the tour of this holy site in just 2 hours. Additionally, along with the lake, this tour also allows you to feed your eyes the beauty of the Langtang range including the close-up view of Langtang Lirung, Langshisha Ri, Dorje Lakpa, Sisapangma, Gaurishankar, Kimshung and Langtang Ri, and the aerial view of the beautiful landscape and the traditional settlement of Tamang people. This tour is perfect for time-bound travelers and pilgrims (especially children and the elderly), who cannot trek up to the Lake.
Amigo Treks and Expedition’s Gosainkunda Helicopter Tour package includes private pick-up and drop-off service from and to the hotel in Kathmandu and airport departure tax. We can make the arrangement of additional service requested, but at extra cost. We also make sure that the helicopters are equipped with a set of Oxygen systems consisting of 4-5 liter cylinder of mountaineering oxygen, fitted with a regulator and hi-tech top-out mask, to provide instant help in case of emergencies.
Although spring and autumn are the best seasons to plan Gosainkunda Helicopter Tour in Nepal, if the weather is good and supportive, it can be planned any time of the year. Enjoy the tour.
