We will then go for an hour boating trip around Phewa Lake. Or, if time permits, we can also climb up to the World Peace Pagoda and enjoy the surrounding view. Meals included: Breakfast (Highlights of the day: A visit to cascading Devi’s Fall, thrilling Gupteswor Cave, Bindabasini Temple, breathtaking Seti River Gorge, and the Museum, a peaceful boating trip around the lake, and the beautiful view of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre.)
Day 06: Sunrise at Sarangkot and drive to Chitwan National Park Though Chitwan National Park, another big tourist drawcard in Nepal, is the destination set for the day, we cannot afford to miss the sunrise view from Sarangkot, while we are in Pokhara. Therefore, we wake up earlier than usual to enjoy the mesmerizing view, before heading to the Chitwan National Park. Early in the morning, we are transferred to Sarangkot (5 km from lakeside and 45 mins car ride from Pokhara). On reaching the top, we will be greeted with beautiful sun rays, striking high snow-capped peaks of the Annapurna region. After enjoying the view and taking some photographs, we drive down to the hotel, pack our stuff, have breakfast, and are transferred to the bus park to catch a bus to the Chitwan National Park. Enjoying the beautiful scenery and the Marsyangdi River along the Prithvi Highway, we first head towards Mugling a trail junction of the Prithvi and Siddhartha Highway. Leaving Prithvi Highway, we now follow the Siddhartha Highway and head towards the Chitwan National Park. On reaching the Chitwan National Park, we freshen up and have lunch at the hotel. We then set off to visit the Tharu Villages (an ethnic group of Nepal), explore their lifestyle, and even visit their museum to gain additional information about their community. Around the evening, we enjoy the sunset view at the bank of the river and the evening ends with a cultural show performed by the Tharu people, which is followed by a bonfire. Day 07: Explore day in Chitwan Today, the entire day will be spent exploring the Chitwan National Park. The main purpose of the Chitwan National Park visit is to track the variety of wildlife hidden in the dense jungle. We either do this on foot or select other options like a dugout canoe, jeep safari, or elephant ride. If possible we try all of these things. The trip starts with an elephant ride, which is then followed by a dugout canoe trip down the Budhi Rapti River that presents us with the opportunity to spot various water birds. We then visit the elephant breeding center and elephant camp, and if time permits, we also visit the Bis Hajar Taal. If you are looking to save time and explore more, instead of an elephant ride, we can also hire a jeep and enjoy a jeep safari. Or, we can even go for a jungle walk. To be truthful, a single day isn’t enough to explore all of the Chitwan National Park. Meals included: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner (Highlights of the day: Jungle safari, dugout canoe, jeep safari, jungle walk, opportunity to spot rare species of birds, monkeys, deer, rhinos, and water birds, and a visit to the elephant breeding center and Bis Hajaar Taal.)
