Afterward, a stunning Trans-Himalayan flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa takes us to the highlights of Tibet, including UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Potala Palace, Norbulingka, and Jokhang Temple. We also visit centuries-old monasteries like Drepung and Sera Monastery, as well as bustling markets like the Barkhor.

Please be advised that in order to obtain a Tibet permit, we require a clear picture of your passport at least 25 days prior to your departure. Additionally, the visa processing time is approximately 3 working days, and please note that the embassy remains closed on Saturdays and Sundays. We highly recommend submitting all necessary documentation well in advance to ensure a smooth and timely process for obtaining your Tibet permit and visa. Day 1: Arrival day Welcome to Nepal. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by one of the company representatives, who will transfer you to the hotel booked for you in Kathmandu (in a private vehicle). Around the evening, we conduct a short meeting at our office in Kathmandu to brief you regarding your upcoming Tibet tour. In the evening, we will take you for a welcome dinner at one of the finest traditional Nepali restaurants (hosted by the company). You can also enjoy ethnic dance and cultural music. However, if your flight arrives late, the meeting and the dinner will be set for the following day. Meals included: Dinner (Highlights of the day: Nepali food, dance, and cultural music)
Day 2: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing and trek preparation After breakfast at the hotel, we set off for the Kathmandu Valley sightseeing tour. We will take you on a tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the temple of Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swyambhunath, and the Kathmandu Durbar Square in Kathmandu. A few hours will be spent exploring these sites and enjoying the Kathmandu Valley's historical, cultural, and religious attractions. After completing the tour, we will again meet you at our office to check your clothing, Visa, Permits, and Tickets, required for the Tibet tour. The night will be spent in a hotel in Kathmandu. Meals included: Breakfast (Highlights of the day: Historical and architectural wonders offered by the Kathmandu Durbar Square; the opportunity to get an insight into the structure, architecture, and religious practices between Buddhism and Hinduism in Kathmandu. You will also get a chance to feast your eyes on the historical, architectural, and religious attractions of Lalitpur, if you opt for a tour of Patan Durbar Square, instead of Kathmandu Durbar Square.)
Day 3: Fly to Lhasa After breakfast at the hotel in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the Tribhuvan International Airport to board a flight to Lhasa. It’s a trans-Himalayan flight, where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains. A company representative will come to receive you at the Gonggar Airport in Lhasa and will transfer you to the hotel booked for you in Lhasa. Lhasa is located at an altitude of 3,490 meters; therefore, compared to Kathmandu, the oxygen content is comparatively less. Therefore, the remaining day will be spent getting involved in activities that help acclimate, like taking a stroll around the city of Lhasa. The night will be spent in a standard tourist hotel in Lhasa. Meals included: Breakfast (Highlights of the day: A scenic trans-Himalayan flight that presents very good views of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Kanchenjunga, and other small peaks in the immediate vicinity; the lifestyle of people, settlement, and market in the city of Lhasa.)
Day 4: Explore day Lhasa offers different landmarks that one should not miss, while on a Tibet tour. Therefore, after breakfast, we head 1.25 miles north of Lhasa to visit the Sera monastery, which is one of the three Gelug University monasteries in Tibet. After spending a few hours in this monastery, we will then see Norbulingka also known as the Jeweled Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site that served as the summer residence of the successive Dalai Lama until 1959). We will then visit Jokhang Temple, which is a spiritual center of Lhasa that unravels deep-seated mysteries of Tibetan Buddhism. This temple is also on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. After enjoying the temple, we will now visit Barkhor, an area of narrow sacred streets and a public square around the Jokhang Temple in Lhasa. After spending a few hours exploring Barkhor, we will return to the hotel for an overnight stay. Meals included: Breakfast (Highlights of the day: Scriptures written in gold powder, fine statues, scent cloth and murals; 5 chapels honoring Maitreya, Shakyamuni, Arhats, Tsong Khapa and Kwan-Yin with 1011 faces and the Gangyur or Tripitaka in Tibetan, which was presented by a Ming Dynasty Emperor as a gift to Jamchen Chojey; a well-preserved fresco and the display of Hayagriva and the dormitory in Sera Monastery; the world’s highest, largest and the best-preserved ancient man-made horticultural garden Norbulingka that exhibits the perfect blend of gardening with architecture and sculpture arts of several Tibetan ethnic groups; the blended architecture of Jokhang temple and the statue of the Jowo Shakyamuni, Chenresig, Padmasambhava, King Tsrong Tsang Gambo, Princess Wen Cheng, Princess Bhrikuti of Nepal and other statues of Bodhisattva-many in yab-yum pose; Muru Nyingba Monastery-the State Oracle in Lhasa, a few noble's houses, and four large incense burner in the four cardinal direction, where the incense burn continuously in the Barkhor street.)
Day 5: Explore day Today, after breakfast at the hotel, we set off to visit the very famous UNESCO World Heritage Site in Tibet – the Potala Palace, built during the 17th century at an altitude of 3,700m on the side of Marpo RI in the center of Lhasa Valley. Until 1959, this palace was the chief residence of the Dalai Lama. After spending a few hours here, we will now visit the Drepung Monastery – the largest of all Tibetan monasteries, which was built during the 14th century and is situated on the Gambo Utse Mountain. Having spent a few hours exploring the monastery, we head back to the hotel for an overnight stay. Meals included: Breakfast (Highlights of the day: The location and structure of the Potala Palace,10,000 shrines, about 2000,000 statues, decorative paintings with jeweled work, carvings, and other ornamentation; amazing view of the entire Lhasa city from the Potala Palace; portraits of various Dalai Lama, a statue of Dalai Lama XIII, 15m tall statue of the 8-year old Mateya Buddha designed by Tsongkapa on the third floor of the main building, Buddhist scriptures, statues of multiple Buddha with other decorations, a sacred mirror, and several courtyards in the Drepung Monastery.)
Day 6: Departure day Today is the last day of the trip. Therefore, as per your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport by one of the company representatives; in a private vehicle. Moreover, if you are planning to get back to Kathmandu we can make the further required arrangements for you in Kathmandu. Meals included: Breakfast
