The trail takes you through Thalsharoa, Chheplung, Thado Koshigaon, Nurning and Chhuthuwa, before reaching Phakding. Mani walls and rocks inscribed and carved with buddhist prayers, small chortens, prayer wheels and fluttering prayer flags can be seen throughout the trail, giving you the feel of treading the Buddhist land. Enjoying the trail, you will reach Phakding around lunch time. Phakding is located lower in altitude than Lukla. In Phakding, you will check into the lodge, freshen up and spend some time unwinding. Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,286ft), (10km), (7-8h) Your trek to Namche begins shortly after breakfast in Phakding. Compared to the previous day, this day is challenging as you will cover the distance of roughly 10 kilometers and to complete this journey, for an average hiker, it takes around 7-8 hours. The hike from Phakding to Monjo, a gateway to Sagarmatha National Park, is on an easy up and down trail that runs along the Dudh Koshi River, taking you through the freshening forest of Rhododendron. Soon after leaving Phakding, you will experience the first suspension bridge of the Everest Base Camp Trek. After crossing the third suspension bridge that appears after Zamfute, Toktok, Bengkar and Chhamuwa, the trail to Monjo grows comparatively steeper than the initial part of thai trail. In Monjo, your guide will take care of the required national park formalities, before proceeding to Namche. Hiking further north, you will stop at Jorsalle for the day’s lunch. After lunch, you will continue on a fairly easy undulating trail to the famous Hillary bridge- the highest and the longest suspension bridge in the Everest region. Crossing the bridge, you will now head towards the toughest section of the day’s trek. Shortly after crossing the bridge, you will come to a lookout that presents the first view of Mt. Everest. Enjoying the view, you will continue on a steeply ascending trail to Namche. A 2-3 hour hike on this steeply ascending trail will take you to Namche, the biggest and the most popular town in the Everest region. Once in Namche, you will check into the lodge booked for you and spend the evening either exploring the town or simply resting at the lodge. Overnight in a lodge in Namche. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 05: Acclimatization day in Namche Namche is located at the altitude of 3,440 metres above sea level. Therefore, once above 3000 meters, before gaining more elevation, altitude acclimatization is a must. To boost the process, on this day you will expose your body to the air at higher elevation and get back down to starting elevation. Therefore, on this day, you will go for an acclimatization hike after breakfast at the lodge in Namche. Your guide will present you three hiking options: one to Thame (an old Sherpa Village located at the elevation of 3,820 meters above sea level), next to the Everest View Hotel at Syangboche (hotel located at one of the highest altitude in the world, 3,720meters above sea level) or to the village of Khumjung (at 3,780m) and Khunde (3,840m). All of these options are located 280-400 meters higher in elevation than Namche and make perfect day hike options. Depending on your choice, your guide will take you on this hike. This hike, apart from helping your body acclimate to the thinning air, will also help get insight into the lifestyle and culture of the Sherpa people and treat your eyes to the enchanting views of the surrounding peaks including Mt. Everest. After the hike, you will get back to the lodge and you can spend the rest of the evening enjoying the cafes or simply strolling around the market of Namche. Overnight in a lodge in Namche. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 06: Trek to Deboche (3,820m/12,532ft), (12km), (7-8h) Your trek to Deboche starts after breakfast in Namche. Namche to Deboche is about 12 kilometers and for an average hiker, it takes about 7-8 hours to complete the journey. This is the second of the two (first being Phakding to Namche) strenuous days on the way to Everest Base Camp. Leaving Namche, you will follow the trail that leads you out of Namche and directs you towards Tengboche. For a good distance, till Sanasa to be specific, the trail is easy and relatively flat. This section of the Everest Base Camp trail offers the first view of Ama Dablam, Lhotse Shar, Taboche, Katenga and Thamserku and some stupas that add to the splendor of the day’s hike. At Sanasa, the trail to Gokyo branches off from the main Everest Base Camp trail. Following the main trail you will now hike down on a steeply descending trail to Phunke Tenga, located by the Dudh Koshi River. The section beyond Phunki Tenga is the toughest section of today’s hike, Although only around 2.5 kilometers in distance, the elevation gain will be around 550 meters and it’s about 2- hour steep ascent through the forest on a series of switchbacks. Therefore, you will fuel up your body with a good lunch at Phunki Tenga before starting this section of the trek. After lunch, crossing the bridge, you will continue your journey to Tengboche. As you reach the crest of the hill, and walk through the gateway of prayerwheels, that serve as the entrance to Tengboche, you will be greeted by the largest and the most important monastery in the region, the Tengboche Monastery. Quickly exploring the monastery, you will not hike down to your Deboche, located about 20 minutes downhill walk from Tengboche. Deboche is located lower in altitude than Tengboche and has pretty good accommodation options. Overnight in Deboche will help you sleep better as it is located lower in altitude and has a number of pretty good accommodation options than Tengboche. Once in Deboche, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Spend the evening at leisure. Enjoy the last night below the treeline. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 07: Trek to Dingboche (4,410m/14,468ft), (11km), (5-6h) Your trek to Dingboche starts after breakfast in Deboche. This will be your first day above the treeline and also above 4000 meters. Therefore, the trekking hours will be reduced to 4-6 hours on an average. Dingboche is located roughly 11 kilometers north-east of Deboche and it takes about 5-6 hours to complete the day’s trek. From Deboche, it’s a pleasant downhill hike through the forest to Pangboche, the last and the highest year-round settlement in this region. Then crossing the last suspension bridge, leaving the treeline, you will continue on a gradually ascending trail that mostly runs along the Imja River, but later diverges from the river. The view of the stunning Ama Dablam dominates the surrounding view, most part of the day. By the time you reach Somare, the trees completely vanish. As you continue more towards Dingboche there are a couple of more river crossings and a few climbs and descends and as you approach Dingboche, the walk is along a rather gradual plateau with myriad of well-worn paths that have been excessively tread on by herds of yaks, yakmen, horse, horsemen, trekkers, mountaineers as well as the locals. Soon you can see Dingboche, etched into the side of the hill. However, before reaching the destination, you will cross a metal bridge, where the trail forks, one (on your left) leading along the valley and river to Pheriche and other (on your right) up the hill to Dingboche. Following the Dingboche trail, you will make your final ascent to your overnight stop in Dingboche, where you will stay for two consecutive nights. In Dingboche, you will check into the lodge booked for you and if you are not tired, in the evening you can take a stroll around the village or simply enjoy hot coffee and some bakeries at the cafe. Overnight in a lodge in Dingboche. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 08: Acclimatization day in Dingboche Once over 4000 meters, you should allow your body to acclimate to the lowered oxygen level in the air (one more time), before gaining more elevation. Therefore, instead of gaining more elevation, you will only go on an acclimatization hike to explore your body to the air higher than your sleeping elevation. Dingboche offers a number of hiking options. But, a hike to Nangkar Tshang Gompa and the viewpoint above it, or to Chhukung are the best ones. The hike to Nangkar Tshang Gompa and the viewpoint above it is a about an hour long hike to the ridge north of Dingboche. This hike presents hikers with spectacular views of Ama Dablam, Cholatse and Taboche, Chhukung and Makalu and the lake at the foot of Amadablam. However, the hike to Chhukung, will be a full-day hike on which the hikers can enjoy a very stunning view of Ama Dablam, Baruntse and Makalu. Your guide will provide you with these options and depending on your choice you will go on an acclimatization hike and get back to Dingboche for overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

The walk out of Thukla is a bit challenging as it’s a steep uphill climb on switchbacks and stairs that go over and around the boulders as you ascend the trail. Therefore, you will get on this leg after lunch. The top of the hill greets you with the memorials to the lost climbers and Sherpas. Having completed the most difficult part of today’s trek and after a short break at this point, the trek to Lobuche continues on a gradually ascending trail. As you proceed towards Lobuche, you will be greeted by the grand appearance of Mt. Pumori. You will reach Lobuche around early noon. Therefore, you can spend the remaining time either exploring the area or simply resting at the lodge. This will be your last lodge accommodation before summiting the Lobuche Peak. You will be surrounded by a beautiful panorama of Ama Dablam, Malanphulan, Kangtega, Thamserku, Taboche, Cholatse as well as Lobuche. After reaching the valley floor, the hike is on a steeply ascending trail filled with rock boulders. Soon comes the most difficult section of the day’s hike, where you need to scramble up the steep and exposed rock with the help of rope handrail and then on the narrow switchback rocky trail. Enjoy a very beautiful view of Nuptse and Ama Dablam and you will further scramble up the rocks to reach the high point from, where traversing the rocks you will continue down to the base camp located by the small lake. Enjoy the view of Ama Dablam, Malanphpulan and Kantega from the base camp. If you plan on going to the high camp located at the altitude of 5600 meters, you will continue your hike. The trail from the base camp to the high camp is rocky. Start your hike enjoying the beautiful view of Baruntse, Ama Dablam and Taboche.
