After trekking Poonhill in 2015 with Amigos I was so impressed with their professionalism and the 5 star service when booking for Everest Base Camp I would not have gone with anyone else.
Our trek was AMAZING! Tika did a fantastic job arranging the trek to cater for all of our needs and our large group of 12. When one of our group became unwell, Tika and the guides were wonderful! One of the guides stayed back to look after her whilst Tika quickly arranged all the insurance paperwork for a helicopter evacuation. The guides were all so friendly, had fantastic English, were very experienced, answered our hundreds of questions, ensured we were feeling well and quickly got anything we needed, often before we even asked. The guides and porters made our trip so easy all we had to do was walk. Our amazing guide Biki even went above and beyond and had not one but two birthday cakes made for myself and one of the other girls in our trip which is a huge feat at over 4,000m!
The teahouses were great, basic the higher up we went but we were advised about this before starting so we knew what to expect. The food was always fresh and we were never hungry. I personally learnt so much from our guides and the families who owned the teahouses and I would definitely not have had the cultural experience and learnt as much as I did without them. I would have been lost.
Overall my expectations were more than exceeded and it is one of the most memorable and enjoyable trips I have ever been on. Ill be back to do Island Peak and ill be booking with Amigos again!
