Ultimate Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

We originally chose Amigo due to their super fast response rate as well as having the trip that we wanted. Since this was my bucket list trip, we decided to book the luxury trip, which included a helicopter ride down, 5* hotels where possible, and best available tea houses once you got higher up on the trek (and there are no more hotels/lodges). I went with my boyfriend (now fiance!), and we are SO glad we splurged a little as being as comfortable and we'll rested as possible really helps when trying to accomplish your goal of reaching Base Camp /Top of Kala Patthar. Niti was our sales rep, and as stated above she was incredibly fast and flexible with our scheduling. Our flight to Kathmandu was cancelled THREE times (thanks, FlyDubai! Haha ..) and she was quick to update our travel plans each time. Our tour guide, Raaj, was attentive the entire trip and did his best to ensure we were as comfortable as possible considering how freezing cold it would get at night! We also loved our Porter, as I have NO idea how he carried our extra clothes/supplies with absolutely no complaint when everyone else is huffing and puffing. I appreciated that Raaj and our Porter were non-smokers, as we saw many of the guides and support staff smoking while trekking. For the actual trek, it's definitely tough due to the cold temperatures (we started at the end of March), inevitable diarrhea you will experience no matter how much hand sanitizer you'll use, and the lengthy amount of time walking spread out 9 days uphill. My fiance (Brandon) had not gone on any practice hikes prior to this trip but is in relatively good shape. I do go hiking, but really the big determining factor in being successful is whether or not you're prone to altitude sickness. I am fortunate to not have any altitude sickness, but Brandon had pretty severe headaches, flu like symptoms, lack of appetite, and extreme fatigue. Raaj monitored his condition and gave extra rest periods so Brandon could acclimate easier. Overall, the trip was AMAZING and my biggest advice for people who want to go there is to book with an attentive company. We saw 40% of people turn around before reaching their goal, but most of them were in large groups and staying at the worst accommodations. You don't appreciate having a hot shower until you realize that hardly anyone else you are seeing hiking has that same luxury. Our guide also gave us rolls of toilet paper when we underestimated how much we'd need, made fresh fruit platters for us 1-2 times a day, bought all of our mineral water at each stop, took care of all of our food/housing/beverages, and even got us welcome/farewell gifts that we will cherish :) Brandon also proposed to me on the helicopter ride back to Kathmandu after we had finished our trek, and due to Raaj filming it, I was able to share it with my family! We really appreciated having a guide who treated us like a friend and we were very sad to say bye to him, Niti, and our Porter.

Ghorepani Poonhill Trek

I chose Amigo Treeking from the multitude of others because I felt that its website just had that extra X-Factor and I wasnt disappointed. My guide Manu and porter Sanjay brought me on such a magnificent trek. Niti in the office organised everything with great and friendley efficiency. They looked after everything. All I had to do was walk and enjoy the fantastic views. The food was great, as was the accommodation. The early morning viewing from Poonhill was the highlight but every day had its own highlights. I plan to return as soon as I can. I strongly recommend Nepalese trekking in general and Amigo in particular.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek 10 Days

My friend and I recently completed the 7 day Annapurna Base Camp trek with our guide Hari Adhikari and our porter Devendra Ramtel. We couldnโ€™t fault our experience one bit. The landscape was absolutely amazing. We had our entire itinerary, accommodation, food, etc. organised for us, we didnโ€™t need to worry about a thing. Hari was the best guide we could have hoped for, always checking to make sure we were okay. He even carried our day packs for us when we got too tired.

My wife and I completed the Everest Base Camp trek with guide Novo and our porter Dipak. It was an amazing experience and they were great from start to finish. Very friendly and helpful and we got along with them very well. The trip was very organised right from the airport pick up, and the days were flexible to suit our walking speed. I would highly recommend it and will never forget the trip.

Everest Base Camp Trek with Gokyo Lake and Chola pass

We did our tour so we arrived at Basecamp on Jan 1 - amazing way to enter in to the new year and spend the Christmas period. The colder weather makes the tour harder, but so much more rewarding as there is stunning blue skies most days and less people on the trail meaning we could go at our own pace without congestion. Our guide Dinesh and porter Chetan were AMAZING - really helpful, supportive and we were frequently told by other tours that our guide and porter were better and more knowledgeable than their own guide even our porter was more helpful than many guides we encountered along the trail. Dinesh always made sure we had the best rooms in the tea houses and that we always were warm and had extra blankets if necessary. During our booking Niti was incredibly helpful answering all my questions and working through last minute changes to the tour without any complaint. Niti's support during early questions and fast replies was definitely why we went with Amigo in the first place. Dinesh & Chetan are the reason we'll be back and will recommend Amigo to our friends and family.

My experience with Amigos Trekking was nothing short of extroidinary. I emailed a few trekking companies and found Amigos to be the most responsive and attentive to all my queries. Ms Niti Sharma is an absolute fantastic kind and wonderful young lady. She answered all my queries and addressed any concerns I had regarding the trek. I signed up for the Gokyo Lakes Cho La pass EBC trek! We deviated from the original itinerary after all our group decided that EBC would be first and we would decide if Cho La pass was for us. I was a single traveller and had no previous trekking experience and our group of 5 was all first timers, so I could not have asked for any better group. I was the only male in the group and my 4 young female trekking buddies were some of the most humble and down to earth people I have met and really made my trek.. I cannot express my sincere thanks for our porters including one who had the job of tailing me as I was the slowest in the group. Janak Basnet is simply fantastic and a great companion who motivated me to keep going and get to our destination each and every day. I felt supported and very humble by his great companionship and his strength and dedication through my fantastic mountain adventure and hope he is part of my next trek next year. I returned to Kathmandu and had a couple of days spare so a quick trip to Amigos (just down the street from where I was staying) and 10 minutes later a trip to Pokhara was organised by Niti! Needless to say that the Pokhara trip also went without any issues (except I missed the bus back to Kathmandu and luckily they put me on the next bus at 8am). The best service and accommodation from Amigos. The food on the trek was nothing short of amazing, lots of it and fantastic. Accommodation first rate I think I said a few times that it was too good for me! If you are ever thinking of trekking in Nepal, Amigos is a first class company very origanised and helpful I highly recommend them to anybody who is considering trekking in Nepal. I will be back next year for my next adventure and look forward to organising my trip with Niti and Amigos in the near future.

Budget Everest Base Camp Trek

We had a wonderful trek with Amigo Treks to Everest Base Camp. Our guide, Kishor was a total superhero and truly the fifth member of our trekking team. He negotiated a myriad of challenges to bring us the trip of a lifetime that we were hoping for. I wouldn't hesitate to travel with Amigo again and I would always seek him out. Such a lovely, family man with a cheery smile and a reassuring knowledge of altitude sickness and its effects. Manesh, our porter was fabulous too. Smiley, hard working and really keen to help out and learn. We all fell in love with Nepal, Kishor and Manesh.

Everest Base Camp Trek

An amazing experience from start till end! I decided to book the EBC trek last minute and go with a group of unknown people. At first I was quite worried that the other people in my group would be hardcore trekkers but much to my surprise, none of them had ever trekked before - so we were all in the same boat! My guide Ramesh was exceptional! Always making sure everyone was looked after. He truly made the trip special. He allowed me to use his phone on multiple occasions to contact family members and he always went above and beyond for everyone. One of the nicest and kindest people I have ever met. Would definitely suggest you ask for Ramesh if you're thinking of doing EBC trek! Do not underestimate how hard this trek will be!! Absolute trip of a lifetime but will test your strength, both mentally and physically!! Also... the food is amazing, I would recommend everything! If you're considering doing this trek, you should 100% book it without any hesitation! It is hard work and majority of the time you will think why the heck have I paid to do this! But the feeling of accomplishment at the end is amazing. Good luck to anyone who decides to do it!

Annapurna Base Camp Trek 10 Days

We chose Amigo based on their price and their good reviews and we were not let down! We were in contact with Niti the whole time before the trip asking loads of stupid questions and she answered them all. Very grateful. The trip from start to finish was smooth, well planned and an overall unforgettable experience. Nobu our guide was informative, fun and great company and our assistant guide Narang was always there to lead or hang at the back. The porters Beni and Badgie (spelling of these names will undoubtedly be wrong) were always smiling and strong as an ox. The trip led to stunning views and was physically demanding enough to feel like a small adventure but anyone could do it. The food was generally great (if you like Dhal Bhat) and the accommodation was what you expect at that altitude. An altogether great experience.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek 10 Days

I had an amazing experience with Amigo Treks during my trek to Annapurna Base Camp this October. My guide, Niraj, was very experienced, knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and caring. As a solo, female traveler and a beginner to trekking, he always ensured that I felt safe and comfortable. Everything was taken care of by both Niraj, and my porter, Rishi, from the moment I met them in Kathmandu, till the end of the trip in Pokhara. This trek has been one of the best experiences that I have ever had in my travels and I would not hesitate to book again with Amigo Treks in the future. Thank you Amigo Treks, Niraj, and Rishi for such a memorable trip!

Everest Base Camp Trek For Indian

I have recently returned from the trip of a lifetime to Everest Base Camp with Evertrek (UK) and Amigo (Nepal) with my brother. Arrived in Kathmandu after a long trip from London via Delhi (Air India) to be met by our guide Kishor. He gave us a traditonal Nepali welcome and off we went to the hotel. The traffic in Kathmandu is crazy (polluted) and finally arrived at our hotel. We were booked to stay at the Apsara but this was not available but were booked into the Hotel Buddy instead. I would recommend this hotel over the Apsara as it is in my opinion in a better location in Thamel just round the corner from the Garden of dreams which is well worth a visit away from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu! The welcome dinner was lovely and we met our fellow trekkers Greg and Kerry for a meal of Dhal Bhat. Plenty of that thoughout the trip in the mountains if you want it. Next day and we were taken on a city tour. This is a fairly long day which takes in Durbar Square and two Buddhist temples and a Hindu Burial Site. Possibly too much time is spent sat in traffic which is horrendous. We had a lovely lady guide whose name I cannot remember. Make sure you take money as you pay for entry to the temples and lunch. On return to our hotel we had to pack trekking kit (a trek bag) was given to us to pack and combined weight including our day sack of 15kgs to go onto the Lukla Flight. I would recommned just taking a couple of t shirts, leggings/walking trousers, down jacket, hat, trekking poles etc. I walked the whole way in Saloman trail trainers and did not suffer with any blisters at all. Dont forget water prufication tablets as the price of bottles water is about 400 rupess at Gorak Shep! Take a couple of toilet rolls as they are not supplied in lodges and wet wipes and showers are not readily avaiable and as you get higher its too cold anyway! :-) So trek day arrives and Kishor arrived to take us to the domestic terminal. Unfortunately there had been a mix up with the names on the booking. Not sure where the confusion occured between the UK office and Nepal but anyway Kishor managed to negotiate a name change of the flight manifest and we went through to departures with no problem. The flights to Lukla are dependant on the clouds and weather and we were delayed for several hours (we were lucky as sometimes its days!). So we arrived in Lukla late afternoon met up with our porters Krisnah and Mehuish and walked for three hours to our first stop for the night Pankding. the lodges on the trek are basic and bedrooms are not heated. Take a really good sleeping bag and down jacket (or hire in Thamel through Amigo). Over the next 15 days we travelled further into the Khumbu Valley expereincing fantastic views and meeting the nicest of Nepali people who would great us with a 'Namaste'. Namche Bazar was a favourite place for me which was also one of two acclimatisation stops during the trek. Kishor advised us to complete an acclimatisation walk (first glimspe of Everest too) which would prepare us for our next elevation on the trek. There is an ATM there and numerous bakeries which have free wifi. From there on the price of internet is about 600 rupees for 200mb of data so make the most of Namche. The hardest trekking days for me were the climb from Pankding to Namche was the hardest and the day you go to EBC is a long ten hour walking day. Expect headaches and not a lot of sleep up at Gorak Shep. Kishor was always making sure we were fed and watered as he takes all the orders for your food and drink. We listened to all his advice as we all suffered with headaches to a certain degree. Drink about 4-5 litres a day too to try and help and the air is really dry up there. Also take a good pair of sunglasses and buff for your ears (protection from the wind/sun) and a decnt sunblock as the sun is really powerful the higher you go! We took Diamox and I think this helped with the acclimatisation process. The guides also carry O2 Pulse Oximters so you can track your Oxygen saturation levels as you climb which is interesting! Anyway in summary I can say that this trip is absolutely amazing. Somedays are tough going but just go slow and enjoy the breathtaking scenary and following in the footsteps of Tenzig and Hillary. If this is on your bucketlist then sign up now! I am planning my next big adventure next year and I would recommend using Evertrek (Uk) and Amigo (Nepal) again. I would like to also recommend our guide Kishor. Knowledgable and friendly. When you are having a hard day Kishor smile just makes you feel so much better. The wellbeing of his clients is so important to him. His English is better than mine and I am English! so he is such an asset especially at Kathmandu/Lukla where his expertise came in really useful. Please request Kishor when you book your trek! Thank you Evertrek and Amigo, and particuarly to Kishor for making the trip so memorable, our porters Mehuish and Krishna who carried our bags for days! and finally the man who oversees operations in Kathmandu, the one and only Mr Tiker. Heres to the next trip! Bring it on!
