Everest Helicopter Tour from Kathmandu

Everest Helicopter Tour from Kathmandu

I travel from the US to India once or twice a year for work, and sometimes I will take a short vacation from India to an area I would not normally go to. This past October I decided I would travel to Nepal for a few days of vacation after concluding my work in Bangalore. I decided I wanted to see some of the Himalayas, including the Everest region if possible. An internet search showed the possibility of an Everest Base Camp helicopter tour, which sounded perfect for a short 4-day trip to Nepal. I contacted about 10 different trekking and touring companies, but Amigo Trekking was one of only about 3-4 places that responded back to my inquiry. Right away, Niti Sharma was very helpful, explaining what the possibilities were for me and my time constraints. When I stated to her (and the others) that the original price was too high for me, she was the only one who came back with an alternative idea that also was actually better, as the weather in Lukla is unreliable and I would need to spend more time out there than I originally anticipated. She suggested that instead of me taking a helicopter from Kathmandu and back in one day that I fly to Lukla on a small plane, stay the night in Lukla, then return the next day to Kathmandu. This gave me a much larger window to fly the helicopter on the Everest tour around any possible weather issues that might arise. And this alternative also met my price budget better at the same time, so I decided to go with it. She was totally correct! In the end, all aspects of the trip were great and I saw everything I wanted to see (and more - I loved the experience of flying in and out of Lukla on a plane), but I did need the extra day due to rapidly changing weather conditions in Lukla. So in the end, I would highly recommend working with Niti at Amigo Trekking for a trip like this one. She designed the perfect 2-day trip within my budget, all arrangements were correctly made, and I had a fantastic experience that I will never forget. Thanks Niti and Amigo

Everest Base Camp Trek For Indian

I have just returned (October 2017) from a trek to Everest Base Camp with members of my family. Amigo Trekking are the most outstanding trekking company that I have ever dealt with. The organisation, assistance and guidance provided by Tikka and guide Bhim both before, during and after the trek was nothing short of outstanding. They collectively made the whole experience a totally enjoyable one which I shall forever treasure. A special thanks to Bhim for his expert knowledge during the trip. The porters were both amazing guys and ensured that our gear was there on time each day. Many thanks to Amigo trekking. I certainly recommend Tikka and his company.

Everest Base Camp Trek For Indian

I completed the Everest Base Camp Trek this September along with a friend. Niether of us had undertaken anything this challenging before, or climbed above 2000m altitude in the last 5 years. The Amigo trekking company was perfect in helping us through the trek, and Kathmandu aswell, in a manner that was enjoyable and atentative. Our guide Shusil Khanal was fantastic throughout the entire trip, addressing any issues that came up. All our accomodation, meals, and transport to/ from Lukla were seen to. Bags and gear provided as neccessary, and we were kept updated at all times. The company was very quick to identify and overcome any obstacles along the way. Most importantly, Shusil and our porters: Deepac and Schuza, were friendly, upbeat, and informative. It was a pleasure spending the 11 days trekking with them, and it really felt like a team accomplishment when we all reached base camp. Amigo trekking was perfect for a novice hiker such as myself. Id highly recommend this package, and this team. Zak.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Just finished relaxing and enjoyable ABC trek with 16 year old son and treasure the experience. We enjoyed the company and laughs with our guide Nerij and porter Deepak who worked well together and were excellent. Nerij was mindful of our welfare, trying to get us to eat and drink more and advising us what to expect each day and at ABC. He also liased well about altering the itinery slightly which suited us well.We were very lucky with the weather and had amazing clear views especilly at ABC which was really a bonus as the walking is just great in itself. Estimated times from guide were accurate and plenty of rest stops if needed. Though working , walking either up or down the days were most pleasurable and satisfying.Love walking in Nepal and very happy with all Amigo staff and service.

Everest Base Camp Trek

My husband and I just got back from our Everest base camp trek with Amigo treks and it was amazing!!! I seriously can't say enough good things about Amigo Treks, Thank god we found such an amazing and creditable company, and the owner Tika really made sure we had everything we needed and were well prepared. He was so friendly and patient and sat down with us before we started the trek and made sure all our questions were answered and that we knew exactly what was going to be on our itinerary. Once we started the trek we were in a group with 3 other people(5 of us total) and it turned out to be an experience of a life time. A day before the trek started we got sent on a tour of Kathmandu to learn about the culture and see some beautiful temples. Our guide for the city tour was Kiran and he really knew everything there was about the culture. He brought us to a monkey temple which was my favorite part because I love animals. There were thousands of monkeys all over the place and basically I was in heaven. Then he brought us to see the Kumari who is a living goddess and that was pretty cool. He explained the importance of her to us in their culture and it was pretty amazing we got to see that. Then he took us to a delicious traditional Nepalese lunch at a beautiful roof top restaurant and then ended the tour by taking us to a Nepalese cremation ceremony. It was amazing to see something like that and experience how other cultures deal with death. The city tour was really a great start to our trek and I think it's very important to learn about the cultures of new places once you are there visiting. Amigo treks does a fantastic job of this and I think it's one of the reasons they are a great company. Now on to the trek..... Our guide for the trip was Nava, and after spending all this time with him my husband and I consider him a part of our family. Nava told us this was our trek, not to feel rushed, and to go at our own pace. Nava has been a trek guide for quite some time now and knows the entire route like the back of his hand. He told us exactly what to expect, how long we would be going day by day, and kept us healthy and alive. Our safety was his first priority and it really showed. Nava has such a wonderful personality and really cares about his work and the groups of people he takes out. After spending just a few days with him you can tell he's really a great guy and cares about what he's doing. I still can't believe how lucky we got. During the trek Nava was mentoring Dipak on becoming a trekking guide. Dipak was the lead porter, which is one of the people who carry your bags up the mountain so you don't have to. Some companies use yaks to do this but Amigo treks uses porters which actually gives jobs to the local people which I think is a great thing. Dipak was also a great guy and I'm impressed he was able to carry so much weight on his back every day. We had two other porters as well, Dewan and Sunil who were two younger guys who carried EVERYTHING for us. If it wasn't for Nava and the porters this trek wouldn't of been possible. We literally owe the success of our trip to Nava I can't thank him enough. Nava made sure we stuck to our schedule, we stayed on time, we stayed safe, and most importantly enjoyed the entire trek. Amigo treks is a 5 star company and all it's employees are genuinely amazing people. Thank you!!!

Everest Base Camp Trek

Right from the start Binu helped me organise absolutely everything, she was so lovely and helpful it was incredible. All of my questions were answered and any worries eased with in depth explanations of what I had to expect to do Everest Base Camp. During the actually trek itself, myself and my group were so pleased to be led by Raju. He literally made the trip. At any given point he was able to tell us the surrounding mountains and villages, the exact altitude that we were at and the details of the days trek and activities. Not once in the twelve days did I have to go out of my way to ask for anything, all meals were pre arranged and he was beyond organised in every aspect. His great sense of humour and outgoing personality made the trip so fun and took our attention of the difficult tracks! If you are able to request him, I would definitely advise so! Our two porters Shishir and Mohan were very helpful and attentive as well, always willing to assist us and join us for our acclimatisation days. Please, if you are going to do a trip in Nepal, do yourself a favour and go through Amigo! You will not regret it.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek 10 Days

Hi,My trip to Annapurna Base Camp(ABC) happend as an unplanned event due to last minute cancellation of Kailash trip and i was enquiring about various trekking tour operators in the available limited time.Among all the communication made to companies online,Mr Tika returned a quick reply with Itinerary for my query and that's how i decided to go ahead with Amigo trekkers. He also provided me enough motivation of doing this trek before the booking and payment as it's first time that i ever attempted a mountan trek lasting many days.I reached Kathmandu after 2 days and met Ms Binu and our guide Himal.Himal was very helpful from the day one and assisted me to do preperation in terms of arranging the trekking gears(Though i had majority of them for Kailash trip).Next day,I met my fellow trekkers after an exhausting bus journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara and bus was on halt for almost 2 hours due to unexpected traffic jam.Our trekking group comprised of 4 people including me, 2 porters and 1 guide. Our porters were Ranjan and Bikash who were very humble and friendly in nature.I really thank them for their laborious effort in carrying our luggages all the way to base camp.Himal possessed qualities of a good leader by knowing individual member's trekking abilities and preparing schedule of the day previous night itself. Both porters and guide took care of each of us in terms of food, water and wifi(Payable seperately at most places),lodging facilities and giving us constant encouragement on the way when we felt low on energy. We reached ABC as per the itinerary schedule though we had a small lag from previous day..The view of different peaks of Annapurna massif from ABC was astonishing and mind blowing for us.It was a heavenly experience for me.Before start of descend,I decided to fly back from Pokhara to Kathmandu as a quick option and to avoid bus journey again.Ms Binu and Himal helped me in arranging the flight booking and could reach back Kathmandu on time.On our last day,we bid farewell after a dinner and thanked Himal for his service throughout trek.I will always cherish lovely memories of ABC trek

Everest Base Camp Trek with Gokyo Lake and Chola pass

All i can say is what an amazing trip! Its has been a dream for many years to go to Everest. I chose the Base camp and Gokyo lakes trek to add a little bit more challenge to the trip and i was not dissapointed. Amigo are so easy to deal with , after a few emails with Tikka i was all booked. Upon arrival i was met in Kathmandu by my Guide Niraj and taken to my hotel to prep. In Lukla we were met by my porter Chetan who stayed with us the whole trek. Both were excellent at their jobs and i would highly recommend. I will be back for more trekking with Amigo very soon!!!

Annapurna Base Camp Trek 10 Days

I highly recommend doing the Annapurna Base Camp trek with Amigo. They had everything prepared for me by the time I arrived in Kathmandu, including both permits and also warm clothing. My guide and porter named Hari Adhikari and Hari Pariyar were absolutely fantastic. They were so friendly and accommodating, they also were so experienced as their Itinerary was spot on. I learned a lot from them about Nepal and their culture. They also took me to all the good guesthouses with the tastiest Dal Bhat along the way. The trek itself is not too hard as you have plenty of time each day to get to the destinations we aimed for. The views from Base Camp were stunning, it sits in a bowl of mountains, such as Annapurna I, Annapurna South and Machhepuchhre. An added bonus is the scenery along the way is a gorgeous mix of green mountains and grasslands. The Annapurna region has such a diverse landscape. All in all it is a real 10/10 experience, I thoroughly recommend using Amigo and if you can, ask for the two Haris!

Everest Base Camp Trek

In May 2017 my partner and I completed the EBC 15days trek with the aid of Dawa my amazing sherpa ! He was fantastic, helped me when I got altitude sickness above 4000m. He was always very helpful and without him I would have not been able to reach my goal so thanks to Dawa and also the porter which had to carry heavy load up and down the mountain! I would highly recommend Amigo Treks as everything was perfectly organised, didn't have to worry about anything! It was an amazing experience and I would definitely come back to Nepal again and explore another part of the Himalayas

What a great holiday! Big thanks to Navaraj and Bikash who were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and really made the trek amazing. The scenery was fantastic and we met some great people along the way. The places we stayed and the food we ate were good. We would definitely consider using Amigo again for another trek (and would ask for Navaraj and Bikash again! ).
