Everest Base Camp Trek

In April 2015 we, a German couple, made a trekking tour to the EBC with AMIGO Adventures from Kathmandu. In our first stage of planning we looked for some German tour operators for booking this trip. But finally we decided to choose a local office because we like to go the direct way of organization. After some investigation we requested information from some different Kathmandu tour operators. First and very fast reply came from AMIGO. Furthermore AMIGOs proposal fitted best into our considerations and was absolutely reasonable in price. So finally we organized a flight to Kathmandu and booked accordingly our EBC trekking tour with AMIGO tours. From this point we had nothing other to do than just arrive in Kathmandu. Rest of all organizing activities was in the hands of AMIGO. Despite of some trouble with the incoming flight and a big delay communication with AMIGO was possible all the time so that pick-up service from airport at new arrival time worked perfect. After arrival we had a briefing in AMIGO office where we met our tour guide first time. Next morning he brought us to domestic airport, organized all check-in activities and our adventure began. Our guide gave us clear direction for a successful trekking to EBC (good acclimatization and avoiding of alcohol). In LUKLA also we met out porter who took care for our luggage all the time of our tour. We experienced a 24 hour service from AMIGO team in all organizational details (accommodation in different lodges and serving always with the best food) during our tour. So finally we reached our target, the EBC, with success in a perfect condition. The way back in very difficult weather condition was supported absolute careful by our guide. At the end we reached Lukla without any issues and had a little party with AMIGO team. After returning to Kathmandu AMIGO organized a very interesting sightseeing tour through the city and we had a dinner with office director in one of the best restaurants in Katmandu. For our last day AMIGO proposed some activities like a tour to Bhraktapur. So all the time we had the feeling that we were in good hands. Everything was organized perfectly and we had take care for nothing than our personal belongings. Again many thanks to AMIGO for a perfect trekking tour to the roof of the world what was a great experience for us.

I've always wanted to go trekking in the Himalayas so when I recently found myself with 2 and a half weeks of free time I booked a last minute trip with Amigo Trekking. Everything about this trek was amazing, the guide and porter were great and the views were undescribable. From the moment I arrived everything worked smoothly despite the fuel crisis that seemed to be affecting other travellers. A big thanks to Rishi and the team for making this an awesome holiday.

Upper Mustang Trek

The summerholiday in Norway do not really fit with the trekking season in Nepal, as I already have tried before. On my first trek I found myself in the jungle of Myagdi, covered in leeches. I knew, I wanted to go back to Nepal, but I knew as well, I never wanted to leech-rain-mud-experience again. The decision was easy, Upper Mustang - in the rainshadows of the mighty himalayan mountains. A forbidden kingdom sounded like a mystique adventure. Good communication with Tika Regmi from Amigo trek during the booking process speeded things up and a rainy afternoon, I arrived in Kathmandu. A short citytour to well known places and the next day, the adventure startet comfotable in a tourist bus. The onward journey to Jomsom was more adventurous in a Jeep, as we drove at least 2 hours in darkness - without lights. And then the actual trek started. We walked along Khali Gandaki River from Jomsom to Kagbeni, the entrance to Upper Mustang. Upper Mustang is a high country desert with small patches of green around settlements. We walked in a good pace, stopped for lunch, where I was invited to join the family in the kitchen. One teahouse owner taught me how to form momo, the famous (and delicious tibetan dumplings). During the trek we wet over several passes, the highest at 4230m. The sun was shining every single day and Nilgiri greeted us now and then. The landscape is incredible, the rockformation everchanging and you never know what to expect around the next corner. For sure, there is more of the amazing landscape. In almost every settlement, there was a monastery worth visiting. The monks were more than happy to show me around, explain their treasures and share their knowledge. In Chhosar, the village just north of Lo Manthang, we were invited to join the morning service in the cave monastery. The chanting monks and the incredible atmosphere made this an experience for lifetime. On the way back to Jomsom, I got the chance to visit another special monastery. Also build in a cave with a natural Stupa that still is growing. The one monk living there opened his treasure with an amazing hospitality and we ended up sitting in magnificent surroundings and enjoyinng a good conversation. Upper Mustang is definitely worth a visit, words are not enough to describe the mystique atmosphere in several places. The nature has to be seen, to been experienced to be believed.Thank you Amigo team for making my trip so special and dafanately recomend to my friends who come to Nepal.

This was an amazing trip. Perfectly organized by Tika and the team. Our guide Rawal was very experienced, nothing was too much trouble and he took us on a wonderful, breathtaking trek over the 7-8 days. I would definitely ask for Rawal, use Amigo Trek again and would highly recommend them for anyone wanting to trek Nepal.

I did the 15 day Everest Base Camp and it was the best trip I have ever done. My guide Bhim was amazing, very helpful and friendly, he made the sure I had the best time on the trip and took care of everything. Couldn't ask for more. Amigo Travel was great in setting up accommodation for the trip and taking care of issues such as flight delays. I would recommend them to everyone.

My friend and I booked our 8 day Poonhill Trek with Amigo Treks and found dealing with Tika very easy. He was extremely professional, communication was excellent and i heard back from him very quickly. We were met on arrival by our amazing guide Bikal at the airport, taken to wonderful accommodation that we could not fault, met Tika to discuss last minute details before setting off the following day. We are really impressed as the whole trip ran so smoothly even during the petrol crisis in Nepal. Tika and Bikal ensured all transport was arranged and went the extra mile to ensure our trip ran to our itinerary. Both Bikal (our guide) and Promod our super Sherpaman were amazing the whole trip. They ensured we had enough water, food (which was amazing), were healthy and happy throughout the trek. The teahouses were all of great standard, basic but clean, comfortable and with delicious food. They were both extremely professional and Bikal was very knowledgeable about the area, culture, language, other Nepalese treks and made amazing recommendations for restaurants, shopping and helped plan future trekking routes. As two females travelling we felt safe the entire time and were so impressed with Tika and his team we are already planning another trip back with family and friends next year. We could not fault Amigo Treks and would highly recommend to anyone considering trekking in Nepal- 5 stars!!

Excellence team (guide and portals). Our poon hill trek (3D2N) was amazing with the caring and good service from the team of guide & portals. our group consist of different stamina along the trek, so we always split up into 2-3 small groups. Amigo guide and portal split up to accompany each of the small groups to ensure we are safe and always provide assistance when needed. Our tour guide also have good sense of weather forecast. it was raining on our first day trek, he told us the rain will stop soon so that we don't need to walk under the rain. his prediction is very accurate. thanks for their patient and always motivate us so that we can finish each day journey. Thanks Tikka for his hospitality and super nice arrangement for our arrival in Kathmandu.

This trek was run so well, with Mr Tika Regmi making the experience so seamless from the moment I booked online, through to the very end where we sat down to review the trip. Being paired with Rawal, our guide through the 18 day tour through Kathmandu and the mountains, was the most humbling experience of my life. From the moment I suffered through water poisoning and altitude sickness, to my very last steps back to Lukla, Rawal was nothing short of incredible. Both the porters and all the staff met through the mountains were courteous, engaging and made the whole trekking experience truly unforgettable. I will most definitely choose to book through Amigo Trekking again should I go back to Nepal for a trek.

Well not knowing much about Nepal, only it has awesome trekking in the Himalaya's and I love outdoor adventuring. I didn't know where to being to start my adventure. It was through a friend that I found Amigo Trekking. It was so good having them guide me through my trek to Everest base camp. Yes there was earthquake damage from the April earthquakes but it was still safe to trek, there was good accommodation and meals at every village I stayed at, and my Sherpa's took expert care of me. I have nothing but good things to say about Amigo Trekking and if you are looking for a adventure in Nepal there is no one better than this company. I only had two weeks off work to see as much as I could and Amigo Trekking made sure I did.

My husband, mother, mother-in-law and I did the Poon Hill trek for 4 nights/5 days. We booked on arrival in Kathmandu and found it to be an easy and stress-free process. We were introduced to Tika in the Amigo Trekking office through out guesthouse and were not pressured to book the trek at all. We were given the information and prices and were even encouraged to shop around if we didn't feel sure, the only advice being to find a company that made us feel safe and happy. The trek itself was really wonderful! Out guide Naba was very professional and knowledgeable and answered all our questions about the mountains, Nepali culture and everything else. He and our super-porter Ranjan looked after us in the tea houses - refilling our water for us and making sure our food was served on time (which, by the way, was delicious)! We were also lucky enough to have perfect weather each day. Overall we had a memorable experience and felt very safe and cared for. Thank you so much to Tika, Naba and Ranjan for your kind hearts and heads full of knowledge!!!

We did the trekking to the Eversert base camp with Amigo trek. Everything was well organized, from the beginning to the end of our vacation, the pick-up to the airport, the accommodation, the fly to Lukla, everything was ready and prepared. The trek is hard for the height, but with the suggest from Tika when and where take an extra days for acclimatization it make it possible to achieve EBC and go to Kalappattar. The tea-house until Nanche are simple after that are basic. We had a nice guide Kim, he was really helpful to show us the best point of view along the trek and to listen our request or necessity. He was able to adapt and propose different solution to minimize the problem on the days of bad weather during the trek. Daniele Bersanetti il.bersa@gmail.com Via Assisi,6 Vanzago รข Milano, Italy
