It has been almost a year since I took my trip to Everest Basecamp, and not a day goes by without thinking about it. From the views, to our guides, from the challenges, to the triumphs, and beyond. It was all incredible. I still can't believe it was real. Raju, Prakash, Padam, Krishna, and Dipu/Deepak were all wonderful. Their knowledge of the mountains, the trail, safety, and the itinerary exceeded my expectations. They had the answers to any questions we threw their way, and spoke english very well. They genuinely cared to get to know the whole group and initiated/engaged in many group activities each night. Niti was also great at helping with all of the planning/preparation. I enjoyed the tour of Kathmandu and it's culture as well, but I had wished it didn't feel so rushed. Overall, I highly recommend Amigo Treks. I would love to go on another adventure with them someday!

Just arrived home from our Everest Base Camp Trek led by guide Suman and assistant guide Subus. I cannot say enough lovely things about them or our porters. Suman was extremely friendly but also professional, especially regarding our health and wellbeing as we faced some tough weather during the trek. He went above and beyond to look out for us, even carrying on of our trekkers bags for the majority of the day when she was unwell. He cracked jokes, helped us down tricky terrain, shared and listened as we discussed our family and culture and even taught us a new Nepalese word every day. It was amazing to have Subus as our assistant guide. There was very much a culture within the company of great service and exceeding expectations. Subus helped us along the trek, waited on us in the tea houses and carried fresh fruit the whole trek so we could have a fruit platter every night. Amigo trekkers and Tika were amazingly professional, down to earth and super organised. Tika helped us arrange things to do in Thamel after the tour and coordinated with the companies and hotels on our behalf. The trek was absolutely amazing, I don't think I'll ever be able to top the experience and views and I would strongly encourage anyone considering the trek to do it with Amigo Trekking.

I just completed the 12-Day Everest Base Camp Trek with Amigo on November 1, 2018. My trip was fantastic! All thanks to Neeti and the Amigo Support Staff who organized the trek in a meticulous and professional manner. Additionally, I would like to sincerely thank Durga our Guide who did a splendid job on the trek, whether it was walking us through the "Nepalese flats, ups and downs" managing the food three times a day, or catering to each of the team members. I strongly recommend him for the EBC trek, if one is booking through Amigo. Kudos Durga!!!

I just got back from a 3 week trip in Nepal where I hiked successfully to Mount Everest base camp! I used Amigo Treks because it was the only company in Nepal that had good reviews and a good price. I was not let down. Amigo Treks is amazing and Tika is the guy to know when you are in trouble he runs this company and has lots of clout with the locals. I did the trek with the Kathmandu day tour which was nice. The guide was excellent. And Niti was very good at explaining things. Niti booked me another trip to Chitwan for us when we got back. I have never experienced such a personal touch when it comes to tour groups. Everyone was professional and we were taken very good care of from the Airport to the Airport. All you have to do is pay them and show up. I am so happy I chose Amigo and got to work with Tika Niti and Gokarna. I made it to EBC which was the only thing I wanted to do. I got altitude sickness after EBC and Tika were able to get me out with a helicopter after the cutoff.

I have recently returned from an amazing trip to Everest Base Camp with Amigo Trekking. We decided on Amigo trekking for our EBC trek after researching different trekking companies. Tika from Amigos was always very prompt in answering our many questions. Our group of five arrived in Kathmandu to be met at the airport by our guide Khem Regmi. The following day we met with both Khem and Tika who went over our itinerary for the EBC trek and some pre and post-trek activities in Kathmandu. We were provided with advice on avoiding altitude sickness and general trekking tips. We were lucky to have terrific weather during our trek and we followed the advice given by Amigos none of the group suffered any sickness. Our guide Khem was fantastic keeping a watch on our condition, organizing meals, educating us on Nepal, and teaching us many new card games… At the end of the trek low cloud cover delayed flights out of Lukla airport and Amigo's expertise came in really useful for organizing alternate travel arrangements. In summary, the EBC trek is a trip of a lifetime. The all-inclusive Amigos trek package is good value. We found the tea houses and food to be of a good standard and the service supplied by Amigos exceptional. Thanks to Amigos, Tika, Khem, and our porters for a fantastic trip and the wonderful memories.

Yes we all made base camp and back , it was hard and challenging at times. We had a wonderful trek with Amigo Treks to Everest Base Camp. Our guide, Kishor was a total superhero and truly the fifth member of our trekking team. He negotiated a myriad of challenges to bring us the trip of a lifetime that we were hoping for. I wouldn't hesitate to travel with Amigo again and I would always seek him out. Such a lovely, family man with a cheery smile and a reassuring knowledge of altitude sickness and its effects. Manesh, our porter was fabulous too. Smiley, hard-working and really keen to help out and learn. We all fell in love with Nepal, Kishor, and Manesh.

I have recently returned from the trip of a lifetime to Everest Base Camp with Evertrek (UK) and Amigo (Nepal) with my brother. Arrived in Kathmandu after a long trip from London via Delhi (Air India) to be met by our guide Kishor. He gave us a traditional Nepali welcome and off we went to the hotel. The traffic in Kathmandu is crazy (polluted) and finally arrived at our hotel. We were booked to stay at the Apsara but this was not available but was booked into the Hotel Buddy instead. I would recommend this hotel over the Apsara as it is in my opinion in a better location in Thamel just round the corner from the Garden of dreams which is well worth a visit away from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu! The welcome dinner was lovely and we met our fellow trekkers Greg and Kerry for a meal of Dhal Bhat. Plenty of that throughout the trip in the mountains if you want it. The next day and we were taken on a city tour. This is a fairly long day that takes in Durbar Square and two Buddhist temples and a Hindu Burial Site. Possibly too much time is spent sat in traffic which is horrendous. We had a lovely lady guide whose name I cannot remember. Make sure you take money as you pay for entry to the temples and lunch. On return to our hotel, we had to pack a trekking kit (a trek bag) was given to us to pack and combined weight including our day sack of 15kgs to go onto the Lukla Flight. I would recommend just taking a couple of t-shirts, leggings/walking trousers, a down jacket, a hat, trekking poles, etc. I walked the whole way in Saloman trail trainers and did not suffer from any blisters at all. Don't forget water purification tablets as the price of bottled of water is about 400 rupees at Gorak Shep! Take a couple of toilet rolls as they are not supplied in lodges and wet wipes and showers are not readily available and as you get higher it's too cold anyway! :-) So trek day arrives and Kishor arrived to take us to the domestic terminal. Unfortunately, there had been a mix-up with the names on the booking. Not sure where the confusion occurred between the UK office and Nepal but anyway Kishor managed to negotiate a name change of the flight manifest and we went through to departures with no problem. The flights to Lukla are dependent on the clouds and weather and we were delayed for several hours (we were lucky as sometimes it's days!). So we arrived in Lukla late afternoon met up with our porters Krisnah and Mehuish and walked for three hours to our first stop for the night Pankding. the lodges on the trek are basic and the bedrooms are not heated. Take a really good sleeping bag and down jacket (or hire in Thamel through Amigo). Over the next 15 days, we traveled further into the Khumbu Valley experiencing fantastic views and meeting the nicest of Nepali people who would great us with a 'Namaste'. Namche Bazar was a favorite place for me which was also one of two acclimatization stops during the trek. Kishor advised us to complete an acclimatization walk (first glimpse of Everest too) which would prepare us for our next elevation on the trek. There is an ATM there and numerous bakeries which have free wifi. From there on the price of the internet is about 600 rupees for 200MB of data so make the most of Namche. The hardest trekking days for me were the climb from Pankding to Namche was the hardest and the day you go to EBC is a long ten-hour walking day. Expect headaches and not a lot of sleep up at Gorak Shep. Kishor was always making sure we were fed and watered as he takes all the orders for your food and drink. We listened to all his advice as we all suffered from headaches to a certain degree. Drink about 4-5 liters a day too to try and help and the air is really dry up there. Also, take a good pair of sunglasses and buff your ears (protection from the wind/sun) and a decent sunblock as the sun is really powerful the higher you go! We took Diamox and I think this helped with the acclimatization process. The guides also carry O2 Pulse Oximeters so you can track your Oxygen saturation levels as you climb which is interesting! Anyway, in summary, I can say that this trip is absolutely amazing. Somedays are tough going but just go slow and enjoy the breathtaking scenery and follow in the footsteps of Tenzing and Hillary. If this is on your bucket list then sign up now! I am planning my next big adventure next year and I would recommend using Evertrek (Uk) and Amigo (Nepal) again. I would like to also recommend our guide Kishor. Knowledgable and friendly. When you are having a hard day Kishor's smile just makes you feel so much better. The well-being of his clients is so important to him. His English is better than mine and I am English! so he is such an asset, especially at Kathmandu/Lukla where his expertise came in really useful. Please request Kishor when you book your trek! Thank you Evertrek and Amigo, and particularly to Kishor for making the trip so memorable, our porters Mehuish and Krishna who carried our bags for days! and finally, the man who oversees operations in Kathmandu, the one and only Mr. Tiker. Here's to the next trip! Bring it on!

I have just returned (October 2017) from a trek to Everest Base Camp with members of my family. Amigo Trekking is the most outstanding trekking company that I have ever dealt with. The organization, assistance, and guidance provided by Tikka and guide Bhim both before, during, and after the trek was nothing short of outstanding. They collectively made the whole experience a totally enjoyable one that I shall forever treasure. A special thanks to Bhim for his expert knowledge during the trip. The porters were both amazing guys and ensured that our gear was there on time each day. Many thanks to Amigo trekking. I certainly recommend Tikka and his company.
