Two courageous children, 6 years and 8 years, successfully walk up to the base camp of Mt. Everest
– Two US siblings, Shree Dhaval Desai (6 years) and Arjun Dhaval Desai (8 years), daughter and son (respectively) of Mr. Dhaval Bhupendra Desai and Ms. Amee Dhaval Desai have successfully completed their ascent to the base camp (5,364m/17,598ft) of the highest mountain of the world, Mt. Everest on (10th April 2017). Born in Pennsylvania, the USA, these kids are the youngest American Nationals to walk up to the base camp of Mt. Everest.
Accompanied by 7 adults, including their parents, these children flew to Lukla on (3 April 2017) to embark on base camp trekking. They reached the base camp of Mt. Everest on (10th April 2017). The Everest base camp trek was led by Khem Regmi, one of the most experienced guides in Nepal.
This trek in Nepal has been attempted by many trekkers around the world. Five years and 10 months old Kandarp Sharma and eight years and ten months old Ritvika from Gwalior of Madhya Pradesh in India were the first to set the record of the youngest trekkers to Mt. Everest Base Camp.
This trip was organized by Amigo Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd. Although, the company has organized many trips for adult trekking enthusiasts, this is the first time the company organized a trip for group with children as young as 6 and 8 years old. The company considers this as an achievement of both the trekkers and the company.
