Nepal Mountaineering Association Amends Climbing Permit Rates

Nepal Mountaineering Association has amended the Royalty structure for mountaineering in Nepal for both foreign and Nepalese climbers. The association has not just made the amendments but has also introduced a significant reduction in the royalty structure compared to the previous structure.
These amendments are made with the vision to encourage more locals as well as foreign climbers to climb the mountain in Nepal and aid in promoting the Nepalese Mountaineering Sector around the world. Moreover, the Mountaineering Royalty has totally been waived to the mountain situated in Mid Western and Far Western Development Region of Nepal for 5 years effective from 16th July 2013 to 15th July 2018. The insurance amount for Sardar, mountain guide, and high altitude walker fund are Rs 15 Lakh, the medical insurance fund is Rs 4 Lakh and the garbage deposit to acquire the climbing permit is USD 250.
