Annapurna Skyline Trek or Royal Trek (as walked by Prince Charles in 1980) near Pokhara,in the Annapurna region of Nepal,is the best introductory trek for people with limited time and zero trekking experience. Along with the marvelous view of the Annapurna Massif, Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and other peaks of the Annapurna region, the Annapurna Royal trekking presents an authentic village experience to trekkers in a very less time. Begnas and Rupa Lake are the additional attractions of this trek. 9 days Annapurna Skyline Trek (Royal Trek) itinerary by Amigo Treks and Expedition also include a sightseeing tour of the world heritage sites in Kathmandu and some major attractions of Pokhara.

The Royal Annapurna Skyline hike is a short trek, very popular among family trekkers with small children and elderly people in their group. Anyone with average physical fitness level and sound health can plan Annapurna Royal treks. However, this isn’t a lodge trekking as there are no proper hotels/lodges/guest houses (except for small tea houses) along the route. Camping and Home-stays are the only available accommodation options. Therefore, trekkers need to carry sleeping bags, foods and light snacks. The time between September and May is the best time to plan this trek. Nevertheless, Amigo Treks and Expedition can help you plan your trek to the Annapurna Skyline anytime of the year.

Moreover, Amigo Treks and Expedition can custom design Annapurna Skyline Royal Treks packages to meet trekkers’ needs, requirements and budget. The package price includes full board during the trek and bed & breakfast in Kathmandu. Special group discount is offered on all bespoke packages guaranteeing 100% departure date. You can also enjoy a complimentary map offered by the company. Furthermore, if you are looking for more of a challenge; try our other packages like, the Annapurna Base Camp Trek (16 days),   the Annapurna Circuit Trek (20 days), or the Ghorepani-Poonhill Trek (10 days).

Starting with a bus ride to Bijaypur, this off the main trekking route of Annapurna region, conquering the height of 1,730m,  finishes 5 kms away from Pokhara. The Annapurna Skyline Royal trekking route passes through forests, terraced farmlands, amazing turquoise lakes and the beautiful settlement of Brahmin, Chhetri, Gurung, and Magar community offering the experience of their mixed culture and lifestyle that has remained unchanged for years. Begnas Lake is the ending point of the royal hiking in the Annapurna region. The trip ends with a 7 hour bus ride to Kathmandu from Pokhara.

Travel Insurance:

This piece of information is for everyone planning Annapurna Skyline trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Please get a travel insurance that covers all the added expenses that might result due to various health issues, injuries or accidents (together with air ambulance, helicopter rescue and other treatment cost). Also, make sure that your insurance policy covers all extra activities that you are planning to accomplish, throughout your stay in Nepal. In addition to this, the policy should also cover death, misplaced luggage, theft and liability, cancellations, medical treatment (counting hospital charges, cost of the medicine, doctor’s fees) as well as repatriation cost. In short, the client himself/herself has to take the responsibility regarding the entire unforeseen expenses during the trip.

Health, fitness and experience requirements:

The Annapurna Skyline (Royal) trek, in the Annapurna region of Nepal is considered easy,  and anyone with average physical fitness level and sound health can plan this trek.  This trek is suitable for both children and elderly.

However, it is highly suggested to seek advice, medications and permission from your doctor before scheduling your trek.  It is also recommended to take expert guidance from your local General Practitioner regarding necessary guide walks prior to this trek. In the absence of GP, seeking advice from travel clinic is also considered as a very good idea.

Moreover, no technical skill is required to plan your trek or any other exploratory trips in Nepal. Nevertheless, your prior hiking or camping experience will definitely be considered as a plus point. Also, a few weeks of regular exercise and jogging is recommended before the trip, to build up the required stamina.

Note:

We kindly request you to inform us regarding your present health condition, medical situation, preceding illnesses and the medications you are taking. We expect you to be honest regarding these issues, so that we can get prepared for emergencies.

Food and Accommodation:

We always make sure that our customers get the right value for their money. Therefore, we always attempt to make some of the best arrangements for our customers. To ensure a comfortable stay, we book tourist standard hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhara before and after your trek. Normally, the rooms are twin share, where you will have to share your room with another member of your group. However, this totally depends on the size of your group and the availability of rooms in the hotel. On request, triple share can also be arranged. However, if you are looking for a single supplement room, extra charges will be applied.

During this trek, accommodation is either home-stay, in a tented camp or in a basic teahouse.

A full board meal (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and tea &coffee) will be provided from the teahouse menu during the entire trek. Meals include both western and  local Nepali food, which is simply great.
